For me it's The Wolverine and it's not even close.

That IS the character for the most part. Sure, Hugh did great work in other films but the script backed him perfectly in that film. In DOFP, Logan is a conduit for the entire story and a key character but he really doesn't do much. He's a piece of a really cool puzzle. In The Wolverine, he IS the puzzle.

Yeah I would have to Say The Wolverine Was the most Wolverine Hugh felt Then X1 X2 DOFP TLS XOW

I seriously don't know. He always gives his all in every X-Men movie that he's in.

I still prefer his performance in X1, by far. It's the only film where the character feels genuinely edgy and he cries too damn much in the later films. Although I really dug Hugh's turn in DoFP as well.

I voted for DOFP having just seen it, but actually, it's The Wolverine. Every time.

It's just such a layered, raw performance, and if it wasn't for the ending, would be the best X film.

Whatever happens with the franchise, I want to see Jackman playing Wolverine forever

X1 for me, but just barely. Because he nailed it he first time. He friggin NAILED. IT. and has been amazing ever since. The Wolverine would be my second pick because it represents the character perfectly, but there are aspects I love about wolverine interacting with the X-men that push x1 to the top for me. The bar fight is simply iconic in X1.

I'd put X2 over DOFP but also just barely. I'd love for him to get a little wilder in another Singer X-Film.

Last stand is by far his WORST. The character was all wrong and his hair was atrocious, But It's not Jackmans fault at all. He did great with what he had. Origins has a few cool Jackman Wolvie moments to be fair. Jackman is the only real reason to watch Origins.

I've really loved Hugh's portrayal of the character in all movies (yeah, even X-Men Origins: Wolverine :oldrazz:). However, if i must pick a favorite, i'll go with The Wolverine. Very solid movie and Hugh was just amazing in it.

Wolverine shines when he is on his own, and most of the screen time should be given to him in his own movie, which was proof in The Wolverine which was great. Long overdue for an X-Men movie to be more than just him. He's a vital part of the team, but there's only so many times I can forgive other character development being stunted for the sake of more screen time for Hugh. There's a demand for him sure, but that doesn't mean there's a demand for JUST him.

His portrayal in Last Stand (not Origins) had to have been the worst.

He basically is just playing Scott Summers with a healing factor and adamantium skeleton.

Ok I'm just going to list my reasons for thinking The Wolverine is the best portrayal. Granted I think it helps its a solo flick, which always means the character is going to have a wider breadth for an arc and more time to evolve. Mind you considering Origins is the worst IMO then maybe it doesnt effect it at all!

1. Its the character right, he's a loner, gruff, peed off at the world and complete emotional and physical mess to start with and able to redeem himself and interact with the world again by the end but still not full of sunshine and rainbows the way Logan should be, Hugh plays it perfectly to boot, tough guy, humor, ladies man, bad-a** all nailed.

2. He swears and is nice to bears.

3. TW has the best fight scenes shown so far of Logan, whether its large group battle's, his best 1 on 1 fight against Shingen or fighting something physically bigger than him who can actually harm him its all here and Hugh is not only in top shape he can do action just as well.

4. It explains and deepens the relationship with Jean which before I was never convinced by but this made it far more real compared to the X-Men films.

I do have to say though the way we met Logan in X1 is one of my favourite ever introductions of a character, cage fighting, drinking and chomping on a cigar, pretty much note perfect.

Still The Wolverine is overall number 1 for me.
