Best Superhero Movie of 2013 (out of the 5 released)?

  • Iron Man 3

  • Kick-Ass 2

  • Man Of Steel

  • Thor: The Dark World

  • The Wolverine

Results are only viewable after voting.
None of them have been BAD per se, but here are my rankings:
1. Man of Steel BY FAR-it's one of my top 5 superhero films of all time.
2. The Wolverine.
3. Kick Ass 2.
4. Thor: TDW.
5. Iron Man 3.

TDW and IM 3 rank lower simply because they were disappointing to me. All of the pre-release materials/hype made it seem like they would be fantastic and epic, and sadly they simply weren't. They were just ok.

Marvel fans are split with 3 movies to vote for, while the DC fans have only one. So I'm not surprised that man of steel is winning. Anywho, I voted iron man 3. Thor was a close second

How I rank them now:
1) Man of Steel
2) Iron Man 3 (my favorite in the Iron Man film series)

I need to watch Wolverine and Thor to say what I think of them, they will probably wait until next year, cause I still don't like the theater experience, got tired of it since Highschool

I would go:

Thor: The Dark World
Iron Man 3
The Wolverine
Man of Steel

Close between the top 3, but all of those were clearly better than MoS. Really enjoyed MoS, but it had several things that made me pause and say "huh?" That said, I really enjoyed all 4 movies.

Oh wait, there was a 5th. Kick-Ass 2! That looks like complete and utter crap and I didn't want to see it. I may catch it sometime on DVD, but something tells me I will hate it.

Thor wins with Wolverine behind it. Sad to see MoS winning as that movie was just awful.

The scene which reveals the costume in MoS makes absolutely zero sense, LOL! I still want to know where it came from on a ship that was there BEFORE Kal-El came to Earth. Also, what did Jor-EL ASSUME Kal would need an outfit that was incredibly garish for? Just raised so many questions for me in a scene that was supposed to be serious. But, at least Superman did more than lift stupid nonsensical continents this time.

It was probably "downloaded" from the "phantom drive" and was the result of a "singularity" caused by the "codex". Or something like that...

It just comes out of nowhere and I was very distracted. I couldn't hear what Jor-El was saying after that because I was too distracted by the randomness of that reveal. I think there were better ways to bring the costume into the movie. That one was just silly, and not intentionally silly.

Well lol I can't answer your question. I was just fooling around by using some the movie's mumbo-jumbo.

I thought it was the outfit that the pilots of the ship would wear. I thought that was fairly obvious. Anyways,

Easily Man of Steel
The Wolverine
Thor 2
Kick Ass 2

Iron Man 3-atrocious

I can't believe that we don't have anyone with KickAss 2 at the top of their list. I really enjoyed that one.

That conveniently had the crest of the house of El?

Well he was responsible for sending them was he not, also it ment hope which seems to be the message theyd want to be with them

My rating would be:
1. Man of Steel
2. The Wolverine
3. Thor : The Dark World
4. Kick-Ass 2
5. Iron Man 3 (I hated it)

This feels like a stretch to me, at best. The film said they had scouts go to other planets, but I don't remember hearing anyone say Jor-El or the Els were in charge of those expeditions, especially since this one had been abandoned for thousands of years.

I would have rather seen something like Clark find an old suit and add the symbol than see a suit waiting for him on a ship that predates him by thousands of years. I know this is a nitpick, but the movie has many things like this that bug me.

Wasn't the ship sent 18000 years ago? Not even sent 18000 years ago, but was on earth for 18000 years. Who knows how what path it took and where all it went and when it left Krypton. Might have been hundreds of millennia.

Precisely!!!! LOL!!!! I think there is an entire movie about the path this suit took to be there for Kal-El, LOL!!!! ;)

For me it's:

1. Thor: The Dark World
2. The Wolverine
3. Iron Man 3
4. Man Of Steel

N/S Kick-Ass 2

I always assumed it had something to do with Kara.., or so I hoped. Kinda like Jor-El's brother contacted Kara while she was off planet to follow Clark to earth and protect him, the suit was just the undergarment for the El's armour that Kara pimped out for Kal.. Lol

I hoped that Man of Steel 2 would introduce Kara and tie up that aspect of the film, since Clark sees some dead guys bones in one pod, but the pod adjacent to it was open... With the whole Batman vs Superman it looks like that won't be happening. And it sad because it's about time that Kara is introduced alongside Superman on the big screen...

I took it as the ship made the costume and got the family crest from Jor Els key

I haven't seen Kick Ass 2 yet but as for the others here is where they rank.

1. The Wolverine
2. Man of Steel
3. IM3/Thor...

Not sure if I like IM3 more than Thor or not. Need to give Thor a second watch.

This is how things rates and ranks for me:

1. Iron Man 3 – 8/10
2. Thor: The Dark World – 7/10
3. The Wolverine – 7/10
4. Man of Steel – 6/10
5. Kick-Ass 2 – 4/10

(A side note is that out of these; Superman and Wolverine are the characters/mythoses that I'm the biggest fan of in general.)

Overall a quite solid year in the superhero comic-book-movie department, but without anything really great like last year (The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers).

Nothing totally stood out for me to go gaga over…but:

1. Thor: The Dark World
2. Man of Steel
3. Iron Man
4. The Wolverine (Wish it had a better script)
5. Kick-Ass 2
