The Toys R Us near me is having a stor closing sale and MM were 40% off. I couldn't believe my eyes when I went over to the rack and saw a chase figure (Bats unmasked). Wooo! So glad I didn't cough up those ridiculous eBay prices over the past year...

Well, it's now May -- four months after the Arkham Asylum Scarecrow and Sonar Batman were the supposed to come out and the month in which Two Face is supposed to come out. Who thinks we'll actually get any of these sometime soon?

Well...the pre-order at BBTS lists the arrival date as August. wow: )
I wouldn't sweat stores not putting up new pegs for awhile...

My hope is that they release all 5 new figures then. Mattel seemingly has no concern for when these things release...I guess they assume the Bat-fans appetite for MM's won't die. I'm sure the rumored Trenchcoat Gordon figure will show up somewhere in 2010.

My fear is that when the upcoming waves are eventually released, the combination of low retailer interest, scalpers, and rabid fanboy interest will result in these things all being ebay exclusives.

Mattel can pretty much burn and die at this point. I have little hope that these figures will be coming out in the near future. I've pretty much turned my attention completely to finishing my Marvel Movies action figures collection.

I find it odd how so many retailers are running dry on TDK merchandise now, considering how successful the movie was and how it's won many awards already. It'd be one thing for a movie that was a bomb or not that successful to have it's merchandise pulled off of shelves already, but even with the upcoming Summer movie season, one would expect a mammoth film's merchandise like TDK to still be going strong at retailers :/
