Beware the Batman - Part 1

I really liked this episode.

One unintentionally funny moment was when the ninja threw the smoke bomb at Batman and Katana, I thought they were going to reveal the ninjas beaten, but they were actually caught.

Not a big fan of the look of Shiva but this was a decent episode and I think it made sense that a younger Bruce came up with a plan that was flawed. I'm glad Katana knows his identity now, hopefully she gets her mask in the next episode.

It's also going to be interesting to see what becomes of Silver Monkey.

Really liked the episode, though I am unclear as to what the design of Shiva means about her background? Yamashira looks east Asian/Japanese. Shiva? Well she did not look like a Sandra Woosan to me. If anything, with the outfit and all, she looked like a light skinned subcontinental. Maybe the show wants to play up her name somewhat and the creators want to leave the impression she is Indian? No matter, the characterization was good. It's not really comic's Shiva, but for what they are doing on the show it's cool.

I will say this, I watched the episode ON DEMAND and the description basically gave the entire episode away, even Bruce revealing he is Batman to Katana. I was like, "Well do I even need to see this now?" Glad I did though.

WOW! great episode. probably my favorite thus far. Can't wait til next week.

This is looking to be a pretty damn awesomesauce episode :)

I always laugh at how much of *****e he comes across.

So what do you think of Katana? I thought she had interesting episode.

Oh and Barbara is SO becoming Batgirl later on.

"When can I get a grapnel?"

"When you're old enough."

"When will I be old enough?"

"Never."

Man, what an awesomesauce episode it turned out to be! The golden age relation Batman has with the Police is pretty damn cool to have.

I love the chemistry between Bats and Katana. I can see why the producers chose to use her over the other partners, besides the obvious Outsiders build up.

I also hope Professor Pyg recruits Phosphorus Rex in the future. :cwink:

Loved that scene at the bat signal. Laughable that he got it up and running within that short time frame but whatever.

Loved Barbara's scenes. Looking forward to the day she becomes Batgirl.

Katana's red suit had me rolling. :lmao:

I wanted Batman to say "I'm whatever Gotham needs me to be" after he handcuffed Gordon.

Damn good episode.

I almost thought they were going to go all Nolan's TDK on us at the end. :hehe:

Yeah this will be fun to watch going forward, Batman and Gordon have a really cool thing going, I hope they don't change it too fast.

I agree each character had a great moment, we got to see the beginning of the Bat Signal, perfect end, like the Ghosts and the Cauldron. Phosphorus Rex needed to be fleshed out a little more but we got future episodes(I wished these episode came on weekend or weekday afternoons/nights instead of just Saturday and Sunday mornings). This was definitely a 10 out of 10 episodes IMO.

I like the concept of The Cauldron and The Ghosts, there's potential there and the development between Batman and Gordon was good. I also enjoyed the banter between Batman and Katana, the woman that voices Katana is great and the scene with her in the red armor was finny. :woot:

I wish she'd ended up with this mask though.

Good episode. I like the Ghosts. I didn't like Phosphorus Rex. But I have a personal distaste for unrealistic Bat-villains.

I really like Babs. She's funny and its great they must be setting her up as Batgirl.

I really want to like this show, but replacing the Robin's with Katana, has thrown me off a bit. That and the general lack of known villains.

great episode, as usual. There was a real sense of threat with the ghosts, and the batman/katana team-up is already really interesting. The TDK ending was a nice touch as well.

this is really its own thing, and it's definitely a great show. The serialization really works.

Really great show, if it keeps this pace it'll easily surpass BTAS for me. That's not a slight at Btas, its s huge compliment to Beware. Great episode, my only complaint is a complaint I've had for Wolverine for years. Why choose a hero with a deadly weapon if they can't use it

That's one of those nitpicks I've had for years. In TMNT both Leonardo and Raphael had weapons that are easily lethal weapons yet neither used them in a lethal manner except against robots.

Wolverine and the Turtles the show creators are stuck.with that. But here they chose Katana

Good thing she's facing a cyborg this week, isn't it? :cwink:

Also, could this be the sign of a second season in production?
