Interesting...

:D

I'm glad Phil is such a huge comic fan. It makes his involvement in the show more exciting.

MORRIS: I was so honored to be a part of this universe now because they’re going to take it to a place the fans are absolutely going to love. Who I ended up being in his life, which is a little different than the comics, it will lend itself to the evolution of SMALLVILLE as a series and then lay the groundwork for METROPOLIS or JUSTICE LEAGUE or whatever they want to do in terms of branching off for other series.

It can’t all be classic DC fare, like the fans might be expecting, but what we’re going to do is raise it to a level of expectation for the fans and give the show the kind of tracking it needs to bridge the gap between SMALLVILLE and the eventual METROPOLIS.

Here’s my speculation; they can’t have Wonder Woman because someone is doing that, they can’t have Batman because of the movies, and those are two of the major JLA members that they can’t use. So they bring in Martian Manhunter, which fills some of the gap. Maybe we’ll see Hawkgirl? Who knows? If they base the show in METROPOLIS we can all operate out of there, and even though Central City is big with the FLASH. I’m an actor speaking as a fan saying that I am excited to see what the permutations will be.

Make of that what you will.

Morris is THE MAN . :cwink:

Who does Morris play again? Sorry, just got into the Thread. Just watched final episode of Season 6. But, I mean, isn't it obvious who the Bad guy will be? BIZARRO PLASTIC-MAN!

chose lobo for some reason i pictured him riding a motor cycle in smallville blowing things up.

nice.

Robo-Suit Lex? hmm, nah, for a full battle between them, Clark would have to be Superman.

Martian Manhunter (J'onn J'onzz)/John Jones

This is my ideal Season 8. I think it can be done but all the storylines involving Lana, Chloe and Lex should be wrapped up in Season 7.

Season 8 would still have Clark in Smallville but would follow his adventures with the early JLA as they fight a early version of the Legion of Doom and deal with global threats.

This early version of the Legion would consist of;

Lionel Luthor - who has betrayed Clark and taken on the power of The Eradicator

Brainiac - Reborn thanks to Luthor reprogramming the ship.

Metallo - Introduced in Season 7

Bizarro - Played by Welling under prosthetics

Toyman - An insane Luthorcorp engineer who designs their weaponary.

Parasite - Appears mainly in humanoid form like MM

Clark will have to join forces with Impulse, Aquaman, Cyborg, Green Arrow and MM on a regular basis to counter this sinister six.

The only way he can restore Jor-El's power to the Fortress is by defeating The Eradicator; and once that is complete, Clark can leave Smallville and begin his training with Jor-El.

Basically Season Eight would be a Clark-focused season that points him in the direction of his future.

Lionel Luthor - who has betrayed Clark and taken on the power of The Eradicator

See I don't see Lionel going back to The Evil MB Luthor he once was, Because I think TPTB finally realized that their can't be two Bad Guys (named Luthor) In Order For Lex to continue down the Dark Path he's willingly chosen to follow, He's got to become more evil & twisted than his father once was . So that he become The Main Villian of The Story as he's Destined to become .

also with Lionel turning against his own son (whom he realizes has become a great evil to the world, Realizes his mistake in the way he brought lex up) It will give TPTB a huge opening for whenever the finally decide that it time for Lex to kill his father (like he does in the mythology) .

They already adapted that whole 'Luthor killing his parents' thing with Lionel and his rents; so I would see it as kinda redundant and predictable with Lex.

I think it would push Lex down an even darker path if he returns for the Season 8 finale to find that Clark has possibly killed Lionel before he got the chance to (even though obviously Clark didnt intentionally do it).

Theres room for 2 evil Luthors as long as they are different enough. Lex is a corperate villian but Lionel is now a Kryptonian threat.

I don't like the ideal of Lionel as a father-figure to Clark when MM and Jor-El in the Fortress could return. Clark doesnt need that many mentors and it was a cheap shot that Jor-El messed up Lionel's mind. I want to see Lionel's true self resurface otherwise it would seem like all the development from Seasons 1-4 would be a waste.

I do, I got all the old promos on my HDD. They've hit the nail on the head with that tag line.

Those old promos rock, that sure was some great advertising back then from the WB, they got me hooked immediately first time I saw them.

Are you serious ? Damn Kai you rock . Yeah that Tag Line is so damn true .

Agreed, The Guy that did the voice for the trailers really got you hooked (Kinda like James Earl Jones did as Darth Vader in Star Wars) .

MM...? Mr. Myx? Can't you people spell out in Full. >_<

My bad. Mr. Mxy. They won't bring him back.

he was the worst smallville 'reimaging' ever.... even worse than kara... :whatever:

anyhoo, i know that MR's contract is up after season 7, as is KK.

does anyone know the status of the rest of the cast members' contracts?

who IS contracted through season 8? TW... and ????

There isn't any official word on KK's contract AFAIK, she said she "might" consider a Season 8.

Besides Tom, Glover also said that he might stick around for another year or 2. Allison I don't know, & Erica will of course stay.

it'd be interesting if aaron ashmore and erica are both contracted for season 8....

if both KK and MR both drop out after this season, i could see Almiles/the CW using season 8 as a transition season between smallville/metropolis...

Can't we just make it through another season before we go talking about a Season Eight since we haven't started Season Seven yet.

If Rosenbaum is out, then there's no point in starting a metropolis series. Superman is nothing without his foil, Lex Luthor, and I don't know how many people out there would be able to accept a recast after Rosey's performance.

Agreed.

Is there any harm is looking (joyously) toward the future?...i hope not. Season 7 is already a go, and I am looking forward to it with breathless anticipation.

I justed wanted to hear people's thoughts on the prospect of an 8th season and how and where the show can evolve to include other villains.

lost announced its ending date.

smallville should follow suit so that the writers can plan out their seasons and story arcs more appropriately...

I really feel that Smallville should make it to an 8th season and end the show there...hopefully on a high note.

The last scene of the 8th and final season should be him putting on his Superman costume for the first time and then flying off. It could also be a scene where he receives a package from his mother and when he open it, its his Superman costume.

In this altered re-imagination of Smallville, Darkseid could also be the last thing we see after some costume reference/moment as a foreshadowing of greater things to come. Doomsday could even show up towards the end of the 8th season as a 'herald/puppet' to Darkseid.

I believe Clark Kent has a college degree...correct! 4 years of High School and 4 years of College, then off to Metropolis to become the Man of Steel.
