Yeah, yeah, I know...we haven't started Season 7 yet and I'm ready to talk about Season 8.

Well, after watching the Season 6 finale, I am so energized to see where this re-imagination of the Superman mythos is going.

Bizarro is mostly likely the villain for Season 7 (or at least a sub plot to a larger story), but how will that season end?

And most importantly, who should they feature as the villain for the 8th and final season of Smallville? (which will most likely not have Lex Luthor in it)

Cast your opinions and thoughts HERE!!!

I honestly think that season 8 should be Lex as the main super villain. He should use everything he has learned over the last seven seasons to try and challange Kal'el, while never realizing that Kal'el is Clark.

But in order to give Lex an edge, he must capture appropriate advantages in order to level the playing field in his favor (very Lex). He's got the super soldiers, so what he needs is a peice of bizarro. And maybe a fragment of Brainiac after Clark and it have their final confrontation for the season

a 'team luthor'esque type of group, perhaps with government funding (ie. what the justice league was fighting was the experimental stages, vs. the fully operational battle station), I think would work best for this series. Showing that Lex has collected things along to way to propel himself from being merely an evil billionaire(like his father), to Arch Nemesis and Super Villain

Thats going to be hard to do without Rosenbaum.

But I could live with Brainiac as the main villian. I hope he isnt destroyed in 7.18

they could in theory 'kill' this lex, and make a 'new' lex, that would stick to the mythos, but also allow hair, which interestingly might attract MR back

So far the poll has Metallo as the guest villain for Season 8. Can't say I'm not surprised...it would be really cool to see a Smallville version of John Corben. I could deal with that, but I still want Darkseid to show up at the very end as a sign of things to come.

We basically did in "Prototype" Wes was Lex's prototype Metallo (minus The Kryptonite heart)

how about give ZOD a proper portrayal and a proper exit instead of that piece of crap that we got?

but if i had to pick from the list...metallo.

Metallo would feel like a step back after Brainiac.

We've had enough Krypto freaks powered by Kryptonite; thats essentially what Metallo is.

And he wont be cool unless they show'd his robot form, and SV would never do that.

funny i was thinking the same thing, but it's interesting to see that it got the most votes. i picked it, but i didn't think it would get the most votes.

none of the other known villians used got a generic simple background anyways. i don't see why metallo would be. i'm sure they would add something to make him unique.

didn't we already have a metallo character? that army guy that had some connection to lois. i thought that was "metallo" even if in name.

Although Wes Keenan was somewhat Metallo, they could introduce the real Metallo in a more robotic/cybernetic version (which would seem like Cyborg with Kryptonite). However Metallo should have almost all of his skin removed, leaving more machine than man exposed.

I may be missing something, but how the hell is wes keenan like Metallo?

the Prototype was a mishmash of kryptonite freak powers. A super soldier.
He was brainwashed. but he wasn't a machine.

yea, I was wondering the same exact thing, what drugs are these people taking that they're connecting Metallo with Wes, there's absolutley NO similiarities whatsoever.

relax buddy. its been a while since i saw it, for some reason i remembered him having robotic parts. that's why it was a question, and the next post explained the character.

I'm still holding out hope for Darkseid. Safe bet we have not seen anyone like him before and it seems the only logical direction to go with the show in its possible final season!!!

Wes is really not like Metallo (had to watch the episode again), however, I remember the 2nd episode of Season 4 "GONE", that guy who attacked Lois at Chloe's grave site...Trent, for some reason he seemed a bit Metallo like. However, now that I think about it, he was far more like the T-1000.

There has been no Metallo-like character on the show...could be a nice villain to add.

The NEW villains for Season 8 are:

Doomsday: In season eight, Clark will face his ultimate challenge with the appearance of the legendary, unstoppable destroyer Doomsday, who appears on “Smallville” for the first time. As comic book fans know, Doomsday is notorious for being the only character in the DC Comics universe to have killed Superman.

Female villain: Doomsday won’t be Clark’s only nemesis in the upcoming season. The executive producers are tight-lipped about a new female villain they will be introducing, but they can say she will be familiar to many fans and will set her sights on Clark in ways Lex never could. Intelligent, brilliantly manipulative, and dangerously sinister, our gorgeous new villain has one more weapon in her arsenal: Her mutual attraction with Clark may prove to be as deadly as kryptonite for him.

Thanks

My thoughts on the new female villain...Granny Goodness!!!

Not many others left that were introduced in a Superman comic:
Livewire
Silver Banshee
Superwoman
Ursa
Maxima

I like the idea of Maxima.... she's as strong as Clark and she had plans for him.

Ursa or "Superwoman" (Clark from an sex swapped/alternate Universe) would be other Kryptonians...

With how well we all know adding Kara to the cast had turned out, I'm not sure I'd be up for that.

Okay, if they have a sex-swapped alternate universe, then they should bring on Helen Wayne along with Clara Kent.

:D

Give the World's Finest a whole new twist, and we're at it, we might as well bring in Superlad...

The Superwoman I was referring to is the one from Crime Syndicate of America (Wonder Woman's evil counterpart). Maybe she crossed over from that alternate President Luthor world...

^ Actually, I'd say Parasite would be.

The Lori Lemaris chick is showing up I guess.

It can't be Lori, she's not a villain. It's probably Mercy Graves, the producers gave some hints on an Sci Fi interview.

Brian Peterson, executive producer of The CW's Smallville, told SCI FI Wire that the writers already are gearing up for the show's upcoming eighth season, thanks to an early pickup announcement.

"We're always hopeful, and we always plan every year for a season finale, but it's really great when we get to tell one more year of Clark's story," Peterson said in an interview.

"It's very early, and we really have to work in partnership with the studio, because right now we haven't presented anything to them," Peterson added with a laugh.

Peterson was willing to share a few spoilers about the next season. "The things I think I can hint at are the Lois and Clark of it all," he said, referring to the 1990s Superman-themed series that ran on ABC. "It's really going to be a season about Lois [Erica Durance] and Clark [Tom Welling]."

Peterson added that Clark will be facing "his own personal D-Day, and let people figure out what perhaps that means. And then I would say if people think Lex [Michael Rosenbaum] has issues now, wait until you meet his new sidekick. ... So those are the very preliminary brush strokes that we probably need to get into in the next few weeks."

As for the current season, five new episodes will begin airing, starting on April 17, with the focus clearly on Lex's fall to the dark side, starting in the episode "Descent."

"The rest of this season is, for the most part, about Lex finding what he's always been looking for," Peterson said. "'Veritas' [the last original episode to air] launched the next five episodes, which are all about Lex finding what he's been searching for."

Smallville's season was interrupted by the recently settled writers' strike. "Veritas" was originally designed as an extended season finale. But it aired as an hour-long episode, with several scenes unfinished. Those scenes will now form the basis of the season's final episodes, Peterson said. "I think it's going to be nice to actually see each piece of that story, rather than have it all hit in one episode," he said.

The finale will also set up the new season. "There's so much still to play," Peterson said. "People keep asking us all the time, 'When are you bringing in this character?' 'When are you doing this?' 'When are you doing that?' And we're like, 'We'll get there.' There're a lot of characters to service. So next year we have some real fun and clear ideas about what we're doing."

I don't know if it's Mercy Graves.

That interview was given before they knew for sure that Lex would only be a part-timer next year....

That makes me wonder what they'll do with the Luthor mansion set?

Have Chloe start living there?

They're probably going to have to shell whatever money they're saving not having to pay MR and KK for 22 episodes to build some new sets...

If it really is Mercy, I hope they establiosh her as a Amazon of the Bana-Mighdall tribe, the 'sister' tribe of Wonder Woman.

I think Darkseid is too much for him...so...Metallo.
