Not exactly movie-related, but there's apparently an online campaign (with the hashtag #WakandaGate) to get a journalist to ask President Trump a question about U.S.-Wakandan relations and record his response. The prize is minimally $300 (though there might be a campaign for it on one of those crowd-funding websites soon, so it could be more), double if they manage to get in a follow-up question and response regarding his thoughts on Wakanda's "granting asylum to the terrorist fugitive James Buchanan Barnes".

That would be awesome. How hard would it be to get a comedian to do this?

We have a comedian in the UK called Lee Nelson that publicly trolls politicians all the time.

It's old school Borat stuff.

Oh no I hope not. I don’t want to see Trump associated this movie and try to ruin it for everyone like he does everything else. I don’t want Trump as even a thought went watching BP in theatres.

It would be free press for the film though lol

His little group of sycophants already probably view this thing as pro black propaganda. No need to go off topic on it though.

Are those black panther spotify playlists legit? Is that the soundtrack? because I'm jamming to this stuff hard, it takes me back to my hip-hop head days before I fell out of love with the music.

No thanks.

Alt right group has already being throwing some shade at the whole BP mythos. No need to add more fuel to the fire

I couldn't care less about what alt right groups say concerning this movie. They obviously weren't going to be down with it no matter what. The only "downside" I see to this prank is somebody would probably make 45 aware of it beforehand so he wouldn't fall for it. As opposed to making him aware of actual important real world things before he says/tweets out his usual nonsense...

Romantic lead, fighter, undercover agent and ambassador Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) dresses exclusively in shades of green, almost like a chameleon, each hue worn only once. “It’s not only nailing one character, it’s nailing several in one person,” says Carter. “Ruth, Ryan and I wanted Nakia to look both elevated and grounded in her work as a spy and each costume reflects those things,” says Nyong’o, who dons a body-hugging, techo-look chartreuse neoprene gown for a glamorous casino scene. “Neither aesthetic nor utility were compromised.”

The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira and Florence Kasumba are the fashionably fierce members of the Dora Milaje secret service in colorful beaded armor resembling jewelry, while the kingdom’s spiritual guru Zuri (Forrest Whitaker, draped in regal purple threads and micro-pleated robe) is the keeper of the herb that gives power to Black Panther.
Carter dispatched shoppers to Ghana and South Africa to find real artifacts, textiles and jewelry, to use as prototypes. “For the Dora Milaje, I wanted to see Ndebele neck rings in real life and how heavy they were,” she says, noting that for the safety of the actors, the neck rings were remade in rubber for filming.

For Bassett’s costumes, Carter looked at Winnie Mandela. “I had video of her arriving at a birthday party in South Africa wearing a traditional Zulu woman’s ceremonial costume and headdress that was just beautiful,” she says. As a futuristic nod, she wears a shoulder piece made from African lace designed in a circuit pattern and 3D-printed. Says Coogler, “Ruth and her team paid respect to specific tribal inspirations that we came up with while creating a look that was entirely unique.”

I hope nobody goes childish enough to try this prank. I am so tired of everything being made political. Lets let a movie be just entertainment. If you assume ~1/2 the US is left-leaning and ~1/2 is right-leaning, there is no real merit to politicizing a movie in either direction. You only piss off half the people with it. Hollywood should think about that. I like to watch fiction to escape from the constant political BS. Hard to even do that now.

Hopefully there will still be an IW spot during the Super Bowl. We've already seen enough footage for BP.

I have never read a Black Panther comic that has not been political.

He is the king of a Country that was never molested by colonialism. He is inherently political.

Who is we? The marketing is just kicking into gear. Black Panther needs all the exposure it can get. Releasing a Super Bowl tv spot two weeks before release would be a really, really smart move for Marvel Studios. Avengers: Infinity War don’t really need a tv spot because it’s already hyped to the max.

When people talk about Black Panther not delving into politics I wonder what exactly they're expecting from the character? Even long before the film was even announced I could remember people insisting Black Panther shouldn't touch on political issues and especially racism.

The character got where it is today by being one of the few comics to consistent tackle those subjects.

I dunno man. I remember some people complaining about marvel making Spiderman homecoming political by making NYC look like NYC.

Let BP have its shine. Honestly, IW can have the bare minimum when it comes to marketing and will still make a lot of money at the box office.

It's really getting aggravating when I see a post about BP and then someone brings up IW. Y'all didn't do this with Thor.

IW can get it's marketing and other trailers after BP has been released. It's BP turn to shine and get all the attention so until its release IW can and should get behind the line.
