Borat movie gets number of theatres cut due to Middle America

I haven't seen it, yet, but judging by the crowd reaction from the trailer where he's at that rodeo and says "We support your war of terror!" and everyone cheers, yeah....Middle America probably doesn't get Borat at all. LOL!

Middle America had nothing to do with the decision. FOX decided reduce the number of places it showed/marketed it, and the writer of the article editorialized that Fox 'apparently' felt Middle America wouldn't get it. Fox didn't even say where they were cutting it, just that they were cutting the number of theaters in 1/2.

Quite honestly, I live in DC, and I've not heard of it until now, so I don't know how enormous pre-release publicity and marketing could have been.

Borat comes out against two pontential monsters...Flushed Away and Santa Claus 3. It's good that it opens in only 800 theaters now. May lead to a better PTA and WOM for it's expansion the following week.
