Don't you mean that Dan Slot writes characters the way they were written years ago and it turns out that nobody is interested or buys his books and we remember why the characters aren't written that way anymore?Darthphere said:Id argue that theyve been written out of character for so long that when a writer like Dan Slott comes on and writes them in character we forget what the characters were like before other writers messed them up. Thats just me.

Doc Destruction said:Slott was playing on our complete and utter moronic ability to become OFFENDED at EVERYTHING in this country now. Starfox was a very fun character all throughout the 80's and early 90's, but here in paranoid-land, his character would be treated EXACTLY like that.
It wasn't a destruction of the character, it was a look in the mirror for us to see how completely silly our court system, the rampage of litigation, the complete disregard for self-responsibility and how easily offended our society has become. I thought it was brilliant.
And I missed Nextwave this week, dammit!
Xofenroht said:Just tell me why he did it? Why did he write Agent Hill (or whatever her name is) to say: "...Mr. Parker". Another identity reveal...they really did do a good job of making him seem powerless and his suit seem quite pointless.

Don't you rarely read anything outside of Marvel?WOLVERINE25TH said:I never even heard of it.
I picked up the first couple of issues, but they're in my "to read" pile which I've amassed from books I didn't get right to from the past few weeksPhaedrus45 said:Well, I finally caught up on my Marvel books, and have started reading my DC...and, thought I'd finally look on here to see everyone being as excited as me at the great miniseries, The American Way....only to realize, nobody seemed to pick it up!![]()
Let me just hype to those how have a bit of cash to spare to pick up this great miniseries. It is in no way tied to anything else; it's all it's own book, and each issue has me dying for the next one to come out. Reading this reminds me of when I first read Watchmen back in the day. The book is very political and racial in it's messages; but, after seeing the last page of the last issue, #4 BTW, I am putting this book at the top of best miniseries of the year. And, while I'm a Marvel mark, it's a shame so much of this week was spent talking about Nextwave and nothing about American Way. This is definitely the Book Of The Week!
