Bought/Thought 05/12/07

I can't wait to see what their version of the cyclops is going to be. :)

I can't wait to see what their version of Circe is gonna be. Poor Penelope; she doesn't deserve the crap... um, whatever the Odysseus dude's name is... will put her through.

So, yeah, I got the first volume of Scott Pilgrim because PJ was such a little girl over it or whatever? It started out pretty good. Then it got even better. Then it got frickin' indescribably awesome. Then it ended and I really really really really really really really really really really really really really wanted to get the second volume right away, but it was 2:45 a.m. and I was still at work and I was still gonna be at work until 4 a.m. and then even when I got out of work all the bookstores would be closed and I'd have to wait until I went home and then went to sleep and then woke up and then took a shower and then got gas for my car and then finally went to the comic shop for the next volume and the waiting sucked.

Thank you.

Huh, so I thought I was the only one who was peer pressured on a MB into reading certain comics. :D

Anyway, that's cool. I've heard nothing but good things about Scott Pilgrim, it just isn't my bag.

Hopefully I will be getting FEARLESS #2 tomorrow.

Scott Pilgrim has rejuvenated my desire to read stuff like The Re-Gifters and The Great Catsby. I love these kinds of comics.

Bought:
Uncanny X-Men #493
Annihilation Conquest #2

Was going to buy Suburban Glamour and Lazarus. Unfortunately for me, they had both sold out. The other comic store in the city hardly stocks Image comics. I'm surprised they still continue their business, selling Marvel and DC stuff at freakin' ridiculous prices.
But, once I made my way back to college...I sat down to go on eBay, and purchased Suburban Glamour and Lazarus. Seems like one of my letters reached the second issue of Suburban Glamour, which is neat.

I definitely downloaded Ultimates #3 to check up on it, and I'm glad I ended anything to do with the Ultimate universe since Ultimates 2. I'm sorry Mad, but I'm not into your overmuscly style. And don't get me started on the Loeb. You might get me checking back on Ult.Spidey though, just for Immonen.

So yeah, small week. I blame Christmas. I've got Phonogram and Exiles TPB's coming my way for Chrimbo though, so I'm happy

Suburban Glamour #2 was cool. The title finally made sense to me after this issue.

Yeah, I think that one might have gone over my head. I took "Glamour" to be sort of a sarcastic description of Astrid and Dave's lives.

I don't even have it. I wanted you to read it and tell me if I should get it.

Oh, right. Well, I haven't yet.

I read Scott Pilgrim vol. 1, though. That's gotta count for something.

So, y'know, I thought it was all right. :o

I'm not going to say I told you so. I'm just going to say that Wallace Wells is my new favorite character. Ever.

Heh, I'm partial to the girls, myself. Kim and Scott's sister both embody awesome.
