Bought/Thought 10/31/07

I bought it, and liked it quite a bit. Some of the stories are clunkers, but some are brilliant. Plus, you get to get caught up on some of the DC people that got messed up recently.

Oh, and an appearance by
DEADMAN!!!
Whoa, I thought he was off-limits. Or did his Vertigo series get canceled or something?

I didn't bother reading it. If it ain't Boston Brand, it ain't Deadman.

I'll add that to the list of things that Darth comments on without actually experiencing them.

How many times do you hear "lie-berry" in a given day?

Not too often, actually. I guess because it's a university library, so people mostly know how to speak. Although, if we get guest visitors asking for temporary computer passes, I do get a lot of, "Yeeuh, c'n ah git a card to git on y'alls' computers?" It's not fun. :(

When I was in college, not too many of my peers knew how to speak. You must work at one of them fancy skools.

No, the 'tards who comprise the majority of UF's population just don't come into the library. :)

The main library on campus was one of the two places with a decent wifi signal, so everyone pretty much congregated there to check their Myspaces. The place, oddly enough, was the girl's soccer field.

I have a secret for you: there was no wifi signal at the girl's soccer field, and none of those guys had Myspace pages. ;)

Oh, there was certainly a wifi signal on the girl's soccer field. It was the strongest one, actually. I used to go there and download music.

I was in college, dude.

So, yes. Of course they were gross. Jesus. :o

So wait, you never watched a DVD you didn't own or played a game at a friend's house?

I played almost all the way through Portal on my friend's Macbook before I upgraded my computer and bought it for myself. Now I'm going through it again. I really wish they'd just let you have the developers' commentary right off the bat rather than making it an unlockable feature. I would've listened to it this time, but I don't know if I'll bother to play it yet again to hear it.

Not to the extent of involving myself in it enough to form a solid opinion about it, no. If I'm at a friend's house with video games, I'll play for 5 minutes until I get bored and we'll go out and do something.

My friends and I play Super Smash Bros. almost every time I'm at their house. For like an hour or more. Some people might find that depressing, with their "outside" and "going places" nonsense, but I consider it pretty goddamn sweet.

That kind of thing just gets too repetitive for me. If I'm playing a game, I want to play an adventure game or something, not some fighting game where we fight the same fight every 90 seconds.

It usually gets repetitive for me, too, but something about the Smash franchise provides neverending fun for me.

I generally prefer games with really strong stories, though. Hence why my favorite FPS series is Half-Life.

That's crazy. We could play a game for hours on end. You have ADD.:csad:

You have a sorry existence. :o

Never played it. The last few games I played religiously were Kingdom Hearts, Zelda: Twilight Princess and Deadrising.
