Bought//Thought March 07 2007.

I've heard nothing negative about DYNAMO 5. Can't wait. I downloaded Cap because I couldn't wait and started climbing the walls. Really good issue Dread. I seem to recall you saying you wouldn't read it. Trust everyone who has, its really special.

It think it has to do with everything he symbolizes. You don't have to be an avid fan to be affected.

Everyone was upset about Anna Nicole, and guaranteed, I know that none of them watched the Anna Nicole Smith Show.

Actually, I have to tell you, most people didn't really give a s**t one way or the other about Anna Nicole's death. Maybe the media tried to play it up, and of course you always have the star worshipers, and her geninne fans, (If such people exist.), but for the most part, it was as if the french guy from Hogans Heroes died. (shrug)

Who? I'm sorry but I have no idea what you're talking about.

As far as Dread's post:

I see, so you aren't b***hing about Cap dying so much as characters constantly dying for no reason, in your opinion of course. Well I suppose that makes sense.

That sounds like a drag.

I don't know...maybe I should try practicing a little positivity. I often bemoan how people never want to talk about the books I did like, but I don't actively seek those topics out either. When I get online tomorrow, maybe I should actually visit the MISC. COMICS forum and post away about INVINCIBLE and DYNAMO 5, books I actually have liked a lot.

And for the record I have never said, "I am done with Marvel" over Cap's death or anything else they did that I disliked. Because I never will be done with them. No matter what, there always are some good books, and it would be unfair to dump them just to make a point. It'd be denying those books sales and myself the pleasure of reading them.

Please do because your cynicism after CA #25 has reached the point of being unbearable. You've already "condemned", or more specifically labeled, Bru for what he has done and how people have reacted to his writing. Should we all judge you for your posts this last comic week? Seriously, go do that other important stuff you have to do and finally shut up about the subject.:o

dynamo 5 is good. it's not great yet, but there's definitely the potential for it to get there.

Yeah, DYNAMO 5 has had a strong first issue, which is always good.

I'm repeating myself, but my stance is, despite Bru getting props on CA, I've never read it before. Why would and should I start now, simply because Cap is dead and it's been hyped to oblivion? That's shallow, IMO of course. Besides, money is finite and I was gearing up for DC: THE NEW FRONTIER.

Barbero was the winner of the last Kentucky Derby I believe in sort of like SEABISCUT sort of buzz who later broke his leg and died after what had promised to be a good racehorse career.

Thanks for seeing my POV.

Ah, censorship, the best way to honor Capt. America. ;)

Judge all you want. I feel I am justified in being cynical, especially as both of the big two not only have fostered that sentiment, but count on it.

You know what? I didn't have a b!t¢h pick this week and even though you're not a comic you're on the threshold of qualifying.:p Take account of all the posts you've made about the subject or how you've tangentially made reference to it in other posts and you'll realize that if I was truly trying to censor you I would have spoken days ago. On top of that you've used the deaths of characters you barely know and don't really care enough for as a soap box to condemn not only the 2 big companies but individual creators as well because apparently your "powers of observation" are so great that you can see through them and even know what they're thinking by making assumptions using OTHER people as examples. You've said more than once that you had said everything you had to say yet a couple of posts later is another of your patented posts.

There's too much of a good thing and there's definitely too much of bad thing. If you look at my post you'll see that what I said was that you reached the "too much" level. Maybe this is USM withdrawal and we're going to have to suffer a b!t¢hier Dread for a while. The most recent issue of USM was pretty cool, they ultimized the Wrecking Crew so that they're Damage Control and Kitty enrolled in Spidey's school. Man, did you choose a wrong moment to leave USM!!!:D:p

Actually, that wasn't the Ultimate Wrecking Crew's first appearance. They cleaned up Omega Red's mess in Silver Sable.

And to think, I was just being sarcastic. Hence the smilie. ;) Anyway, feel better?

I repeat myself when I feel my point is being missed. Perhaps I do that too much. Especially when I reply to replies.

The irony, and if ANYONE denies me this point, they are full of dung, is that if I was giving the entire Cap Death affair nothing but praise, NO ONE would complain. No one. Not a soul. It wouldn't matter if I'd read it or not. No one would say, "you have no right to be approving of the general trend/idea unless you read the issue or the title for the last 2 years". No. One.

Cap's Death this week was the "Elephant in the Room". It's impossible to talk about comics this week without commenting on it. Especially since the general drumbeat is blind praise of Bru, I figured my counter opinion would fit. Obviously I've oversold it.

But, as I am being critical, that naturally brings criticism to me. Fair enough.

First you people wanted me off it, now you want me back on? Sheesh, can't please you fanboys. :p Smilie. Joke comment.

I never said I was off USM forever. I could return by trade, which was how I read the title from the beginning through WARRIORS. I switched to monthly because the oppurtunity was there and so I could discuss it. I probably wouldn't have hated as violently CLONE SAGA had I only read it once in one week vs. slow burn for 9 months. It was still bad, but so was CARNAGE and JUMP THE SHARK and I stayed. CS was worse, IMO.

But I have until summer to decide that, when the ULTIMATE KNIGHTS trade is due, and I'll have many opinions from those to stayed to judge.

Actually, that wasn't the Ultimate Wrecking Crew's first appearance. They cleaned up Omega Red's mess in Silver Sable.

Uh-huh. That was actually a strong lead-in issue. Like quite a few USM arcs, I might add.

Don't sweat it, I thought the same thing until I re-read my friend's Silver Sable TPB. But I get what you mean, it's a really cool re-imagining.

I get ya! I also have to check out USM through a friend and he's so "organized" I have to look all over his house LITERALLY when I visit if I want to read anything and even then I'm not guaranteed to find each issue.:( Anyway, I think I liked it so much because if someone deserves a costume change by now is Wrecker (and a few of the other Wrecking Crew members:o) and the Ult. version looked pretty cool even if it was in a uniform kinda way.

Dread...you know, what? I've seen people drop Marvel because of Cap's death, I've seen people ask for Bru's head, I've seen people call death supporters morons and idiots. I guess I go to a pocket dimension Hype that has people posting other stuff than what you (choose to) see. And, no offense in all honesty I'm not directing this at you in particular, I find it SO stupid for people to be blaming any writers or even PRAISING them all that much for the stuff that's been happening in CW because it has mostly been a group effort.

I've heard so much stuff about it in the news and even in a local radio show and apparently Marvel's "media packet" is that Cap was fighting against an anti-terrorist law, the title was selling less than half what it did a couple of years ago (never mind that the comparison was with the 90's and that the whole industry is less than it was) and that he was an "old" character and out of touch with current America. To me, Cap died on the last issue of Frontline and he was buried and done for when Quesada himself was calling him an out of touch relic. I already gave my comments on it. I'd hate to hang out with my friends and have one of them complain about a meal he had one day, every day for a week after it. Especially when it's from the restaurant he says he prefers to eat at.You know? Like the Tanqueray commercial says: "Always in moderation!";)

Yeah, no complaints about the Ultimate Crew, even if they debuted earlier. I guess Omega Red took the focus away last year.

So, you're saying I'm annoying? ;) Smilie Face. Joke.

I just rarely post the things that annoy me about other posters, for fear of starting an arguement, so I am always caught off guard when people complain about me. Not sure if that makes any sense.

I see your point, that a lot of the events have been group/editorial efforts and that Marvel's been stomping on Cap & Iron Man for attention weeks before his death. THAT simply is what adds fuel to my fire against it, y'know? Ah, forget it. Tomorrow there will be new comics to talk about.

I loved the Ultimate Crew in 106.

"Hey, babe."
"I'm fifteen."

Okay, y'know how all the cool posters or whatever always say, "If you btch about other people btching, you're being more annoying than the original person who btched"? Whatever happened to that?

I'm not saying that I care. I'm just saying that I'm saying.

And, eh, Brubaker's hardly a sure bet. No one truly is, but Brubaker in particular...I'm glad his Cap has been good, but am I the only one who remembers the festering ****eson blight that was Deadly Genesis? Are all those claims of Uncanny X-Men currently being boring and unimpressive just that: claims?

He hardly gets the benefit of the doubt just because.

True, but its funny you bring up Deadly Genesis, because its the only Brubaker title Dread admits to have read, and that was enough to pretty much call him a hack and the next Bendis, all because he brought Bucky back (Dread didnt read it), killed Foggy and brought him back (Dread didnt read that) and because he killed Cap ( definitley didnt read that) so he must be a hack because he relies on big deaths and such. Yay!

I don't remember saying that.

Well that's because you're not a cool...

uh,

rememberer.
