These movies has been released in Australia. Wouldn't that qualify them as worldwide releases?

Milestones reached so far.

First to $100 million and $200 million: Glass
First to $300 million and $400 million: The Wandering Earth

The Wandering Earth should be first to $500 million also unless it collapses completely from now on.

As I've said before, I'm only counting movies that had their world premiere in the year the list is about. DBS, was released in Decemeber in Japan and some other countries. So I count that as a 2018-release.

Yes like 30th of December in a few Asian countries and in January everywhere else.

For me its a 2019 release.

With that kind of logic you can just as well call The Favourite a 2019 release. And I suppose you would call Titanic a 1998 release?

1st of all, The kind of logic that is used to say a movie opens at the X day of X month when in fact most major movies open a day earlier with the previews that when first introduced had the screening starting at midnight 00:00 which technically made sense but then the previews started to move as early as 18:00 and now its a standard of the industry for a movie to open a day earlier than its advertised.

2nd of all, We need to look at this in a case to case basis

Like i said and you didnt comment on, Dragon Ball Super: Broly opened in just 3 markets Japan , Singapore and Thailand in late December of 2018.
It opened in January or February of 2019 in the rest of the world. Like literally all other markets.

The Titanic you re reffering to opened in like 15 markets from 4 different continents in mid December of 1997.
Its not a similar case at all.

As for the The Favourite it has been screening at film festivals all over the world for every single month of 2018 since August so give me a break.

You can technically count Dargon Ball Super: Broly as a 2018 release just like IMDB does but for me its a 2019 release and has no comparisons to other cases. Certainly not the 2 you mention.

So what about Paddington 2 which you had on the 2018 chart and was released in many countries in 2017?

So what about Paddington 2 which you had on the 2018 chart and was released in many countries in 2017?

Had i cheked it was released in 2017 i woudlnt have , but i didnt check it so , i was going off with the boxofficemojo 2018 chart which is full of mislistings , errors , unupdated numbers and non inclusions.

Big surprise isnt it ?

Not that it even matters since it was only at #25 spot, last in the list for a short period of time before it was replaced by the The Nun.

So there you go , you do your lists going strictly by rules and i ll do my lists going by substance.
No harm done. There are no laws here.

P.S. Crazy Alien and Boonie Bears have yet to be released in any other market outside of China.
Even though i see Boonie Bears listed to have released in 2 territories i cant find boxoffice data for it in any other country other than China and doesnt have a release date slated for other Countries and neither does Crazy Alien as of now.
Im going to include them both next week probably when i find the numbers.

Well China has grown tremendously over the last decade and it is still growing but i think its reaching its limits.

And as Chinese movies dont do well outside China the only interesting battle we re gonna get over the next years will be which market will have the biggest boxoffice total for the big Hollywood blockbusters , China or USA.

For the time being i think USA will win most of the battles.

Boxofficemojo isnt famous for their updating speed.

I fully appreciate the work 'behind the scenes' there to do what they do and compress the numbers but blimey, they are slow sometimes.

Perhaps some questionable numbers on The Wandering Earth. Several sites says it passed $600 million this weekend. Other places says it stands at $575,2 million in China after Monday. And I can't imagine it can have done enough in other countries to push it over $600 million in that case. It's done around $ 4 million in US and the only other countries it seems to have been released in are Australia and New Zealand.

With the exception of Glass, this year hasn't been too kind to sequels.

Comscore lists it at $609,299,000
Wikipedia at $607 mil

With February over 2019 is now around $540 million behind last year on the domestic side. Certainly a miserable start of the year. But things should get better in March. Captain Marvel might make more in its opening weekend than what the biggest March-release last year (Ready Player One) made in total.
