Arrow Brandon Routh IS Ray Palmer/The Atom

A well fed Superman? lol

Cain is in his late 40s but he still hasn't gotten rid of his (for lack of a better word) *****voice.

Keep Cain the **** away from this. I may not be a fan of Routh's acting, but at least in real life, he seems like a good guy. Cain is a *****ebag AND a bad actor.

Cain's a d-bag?

This news is bigger on twitter than Robbie Amell joining Flash as Firestorm lol

well that makes sense. Brandon Routh was Superman, it's an interesting turn of events. Routh right now is more famous than Robbie

Dean Cain doesn't seem like an *******,, he just seems really delusional and out of touch with reality

This is more than a little bit awesome. Arrow is just plain winning at universe building.

Agreed. The Flash/Arrow are doing everything right. It's insane to think there are more announcements to come about this season of Flash and Arrow

Indeed. And I don't even like the news, per se. I think cramming a bunch of additional superheroes in to Arrow/Flash would be totally idiotic.

But bringing back Caitlin's fiance to propel the whole Firestorm-Killer Frost thing is brilliant. Using Brandon Routh, a former and underrated poorly received DC superhero as a local scientist that interacts with Ollie is just brilliant, and rings so true to this theme they have of a second-tier DC but still cool, cooler in it's own way. And expanding their universe in that same intensely scientific but not as cool as the main hero direction is just so smart to me. Using heroes that are easy to 'put away' is even smarter. It's just so smart all around.

I think Brandon Routh will do a good job as Ray Palmer but he seem a bit old for Felicity

People ship Felicity and Ollie, and Amell is only one year younger than Routh.

As much as I really support and like Brandon Routh and I'm excited to see he's still working!

I can't help but feel this is a step backwards and feel a little sorry for him. I imagine it must of been a difficult decision to make. On one side he needs the work, but on the other, He was Superman. Arguably, the greatest superhero ever and now he's back to DC playing a B-List character.

I'm really torn by this casting.

A well received Ray Palmer is a step up from a poorly received Superman, imho.

Now he might be able to actually put his own stamp on the character, and not be forced to imitate another actor's performance.

that's a fair statement.

Now he might be able to actually put his own stamp on the character, and not be forced to imitate another actor's performance.

As much as he was trying to imitate Reeves, I honestly believe his acting chops just weren't strong enough.

I read an article where he stated some scenes were really difficult for him to watch, that he understood in them he had done a poor job. The Kent farm scenes were ones he mentioned.

Cain has absolutely horrendous politics, but I've always heard he was generally a nice guy. He played my favorite version of Clark Kent. His Superman was lacking though.

Now he might be able to actually put his own stamp on the character, and not be forced to imitate another actor's performance.

Precisely.

What a rip off for him. Imagine being the first actor to play Superman in 20 years and you're just told to imitate the old guy.

I personally don't feel everyone needs to be a democrat to be on the good side of politics. Cain is a conservative, so what? Big deal. His view is that some people abuse welfare and shouldn't use it as a way to avoid work. Is this pc to most people, especially those that lean democrat? No. It's his view. This does not make him a bad person.

Sorry but that doesn't seem dbagish to me. I have met the man and he is pretty ****ing awesome. He basically just said people should take the jobs they can get because you won't always get what you want.

I think people get caught up with politics as if it is a team sport almost.

I think people take issue with how he expresses his opinion, rather than the opinion itself.

Most "controversies" I see nowadays are basically team sports, and rarely (never?) actually about any issue of any relevance, even though some claim to be.
