I've been wanting to say this any time people split the two. And it's a popular thing to do, unfortunately. I get that it's a metaphor, but come on.

As for life after Breaking Bad, there's Supernatural, The Walking Dead, and Mad Men.
 
Right. Exactly. Walt doesn't have dissociative personality disorder. He's conscious, aware and in control of everything he does as Heisenberg. Walt has always been the man and the monster.

Plus Breaking Bad grew into this amazing show over time and knew when to bow out. While Mad Men is still appointment viewing for me I think it has peaked and will still put out greats I don't know if the final 14 episodes can top any previous season. We'll see.

Homeland is also starting up again, that is the cliffhanger nuttiness that is enjoyable, AHS: Coven will have great stuff but is only limited to thirteen episodes.

I've watched a lot of new shows in hopes of finding something to fill the voids of Breaking Bad, 30 Rock and the soon to be departing Mad Men or have shaky futures Community, Parks and Rec. Or if The Walking Dead goes off the rails unwatchable territory.

Hannibal, Orphan Black, The Americans and House of Cards have been great. Really optimistic that Orphan Black and The Americans can be shows that get better as they go forward and can kind of follow the Breaking Bad serial model where its an A-Z type of show instead of ones which have a "Big Bad" each season.
 
Ok so my shows to try and fill the void are as follows

The League
It's Always Sunny
Big Bang Theory
Agents of SHIELD
Walking Dead
The Blacklist
Football
World Series of Poker
Legit
Ink Master

I'm just afraid that I will end up like a victim of a crime, TV will never be the same after next Sunday. I feel like I'm about to watch my kid drown and then be left with an emptiness that can never be replaced
 
A Commissioner Gordon TV series titled Gotham was just announced by WB.

Cranston just finished Breaking Bad. Just maybe.....:yay:.
 
There's very few great cable dramas on right now. A lot of so-so ones like Walking Dead. Boardwalk Empire is one of the few ones that I find as engaging as BB and Sopranos. Not quite as good as either, but at least in the same ballpark. Game of Thrones is great of course.

Mad Men is pretty good, but I don't think its newer seasons have quite maintained the quality of its first few.

Basically, it's slim pickings for right now.
 
I'll always be watching Game of Thrones, and I reasonably enjoy The Walking Dead so I watch that.

I started watching Deadwood yesterday, and have the first season of The Wire, so there's that. Also thinking of getting into Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards and Boardwalk Empire.
 
Yeah...

Boarwalk, GOT, Hannibal, Parks & Rec, Shameless, Sherlock, Archer, and Community are my only saviors after BrBa.

To bad; Misfits is meh now and Luther/The Hour are done.
 
I don't know what people are talking about with Mad Men. It's best season was probably season 4, but it's all been pretty top notch. Unless there's a huge dip in quality randomly, season 7 will probably be just as good.

But yeah, there's plenty of great shows on TV right now. Plenty to watch after Breaking Bad is over. It wasn't even really my favorite current show running. I'm going to miss it in the same way I miss any great show, but you know, it happens.
 
First season of House of Cards really impressed me; looking forward to a second season of that for sure.

And then I also love Game of Thrones.
 
Yeah, honestly like Vince Gilligan said at the Emmys, this is pretty much the golden age of television. I'm honestly overwhelmed with how much good TV there is out there, not just currently running series but shows I've yet to watch or finish like The Shield and The Wire, or Netflix content like House of Cards. And Breaking Bad will always be there to re-watch too. You'd be surprised how much you forget when you leave a series on the shelf for a while.

I mean, Breaking Bad has totally become the "zeitgeist" show of this moment in time similar to the way The Sopranos was during its run. Those types of shows don't quite come along every day, but it'll be interesting to see what the next show to take the torch will be that gets everyone THIS obsessed.

What I find really interesting about it is that BB was really only that during this last season. It rated well with other seasons, but it really only seems like this season became this must watch TV that had everyone talking. Kind of strange how that happened. I can't recall a show that spiked up like that when it entered the last leg.
 
I should really starting watching more TV. Excluding animated shows (both American and Japanese), I don't watch a lot of live-action TV these days other than comedies like The Big Bang Theory and 2 & 1/2 Men. I used to watch a lot more when I was younger, but not anymore.

Only serious TV shows I've seen recently are Arrow and Breaking Bad. Arrow because I'm a superhero fan and Breaking Bad because everyone told me it was mindblowing (which it is). So many great shows that I have yet to touch.....
 
Oh there's plenty of amazing shows still on. Sons of Anarchy, Shameless, Once Upon a Time, Arrow, Homeland, Ray Donovan, The Bridge, Hannibal, Justified etc plus plenty of shows that sound amazing are in production or entering it

It goes to show that if you plug away and continuously do great work recognition will find you. The life and death of shows seems to be so random much of the time but I'd like to think true talent and quality finds a way to be successful in one way or another.
 
Are we looking for shows to fill the Breaking Bad void?

I can't take credit for this, but on Facebook and open question was asked about what Walt should do in the finale. Best answer: "Go to Argentina with Hannah and Harrison."

For those of you talking about shows after BB, I HIGHLY recommend Sleepy Hollow on Fox.

At least watch the pilot on Hulu.

That show (sleepy Hollow) lost me when a bit when -
The female lead, a tiny female cop put (at the time) a suspected nut case (and murder suspect) in cuffs, not behind his back but in front of him. Then puts him in the front seat of her car, THEN takes the cuffs off to allow him to take her into a dark cave.. yeah.. good police work ;)
