'Wood Working'

ctfo how is this as well as
Dexter becoming the dark passenger and Walt becoming his own dark passenger
not related :hehe: the coincidence is mind boggling.

even better, we keep comparing the shows and say theres nothing to compare :funny:

So what are your thoughts on Todd's choice of clothing when he was having his "date" with Lydia at the coffee shop? Blue shirt with khaki pants, reminds me of Walter White. Perhaps Todd is emulating him now? He does have a lot of respect for him.

"His contribution begins and end there?"

No no... your lives begin and end there. :o

Okay, seriously, this show is becoming gut-wrenching. And it's so awesome.

Three things stood out for me.
First, Walt's call to Jr. My god, that was so sad... "No, it can't be all for nothing!" Poor Walt, still thinking only about money.

I think he meant that as in all the work he did to set his family up after his death would mean nothing and he'd die with the knowledge that they would have to endure a very tough life without at least having the financial support that Walt thought his money would promise them.

But with Walt, it's different. People are doing a lot more than "relating to him on some teeny, tiny level." They're fully sympathizing with him and taking his side while vilifying the (mostly) good, sensible people he dragged into this ego-driven wake because they don't support or appreciate the HORRIBLE choices he made "for them." It's crazy to me.

There's no use in trying to deal with Team Walt People.

That phone call to Skyler was epic. Simply epic. I hate that dumb *****. lolol

Jesse is a filthy rat and he cries too much. He deserves to be enslaved, tortured, and murdered by Nazis.

Don't you dare besmirch the good name of Heisenberg. He does it for his family, bro. He's basically a saint. Better than Jesus, even.

ALL HAIL KING HEISENBERG!!

I just finished the episode. **** YOU TODD! **** YOU IN YOUR STUPID ****ING FACE.

Poor Jesse. I really hope he gets some vengeance. I'm gonna hate if Walt takes him out too, just like one of the Nazi's.

I'm watching a repeat now, because I was watching the Emmys when it aired, and I just hit the Andrea scene. I long for the laughs I had with "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" and "Americone Dream." **** you in your stupid ****ing face, Todd, indeed.

Todd is loyal to Walt. So it makes sense. When I saw it, I thought he was just dressing up and trying to be presentable to Lydia. But you're totally right. Todd is a Heisenberg cultist.

After this episode, Jesse has to be the one who kills "Meth Damon" Todd, no question. Walter can gun down Jack and the other neo-nazis, but Todd is for Jesse alone.

Also, I think what this episode highlighted the real reason Walter did all this. It wasn't about providing for his family. It wasn't about greed. It wasn't even about wanting to build an empire. It was all about the name. It was all about wanting to feel as though he accomplished something out of life, something that he would be remembered for, something that would make his mark. Consider what we know about Gray Matter--Walter for as of yet unknown but obviously personal reasons, sold his share of the company and walked away and the end result was that his ideas and the company he founded went on to make billions while he became an over-qualified high school chemistry teacher, just one more anonymous nobody to the rest of the world. And after seeing that Charlie Rose show with Gretchen and Elliot, saying how he contributed nothing but the name of the company, and what was being reported about the Blue Meth, and knowing where he ended up, Walt realized he was once again about to become just another nobody with nothing to his name. And that's when the part of him that was Heisenberg said "F*** that!"

I've always thought that Walter, at the end, was going have the mindset of "If I'm going to die, I'm going to do so on my own terms," but I think it's also clear that he's also going to essentially say "If I'm going to die, I'm going to take everything I've built with me. Because if I can't be remembered for building them, I sure as hell will be remembered for tearing them down."

Again, think of the Shelley's "Ozymandius" for which last episode was named after. Yes, the statue of Ozymandius is "shattered" and a "colossal wreck," but it's still there all the same, while everything else around it, including the empire the statue's namesake once built, is nothing but a vast desert.

those were my EXACT thoughts :wow:

...or it could've been that he was trying to make it out like some kind of "date", when it was just a drug meeting.

To me it was about the fact that he always justified what he did with the fact that his family needed money. Even when it was past the point of need (he had 80 million, for God's sake... even a tenth of that would have been enough for their needs) and it was about his ego and pride, he still continued telling himself and everyone else that it was all about his family. And when his son threw the money in his face he finally realized, I think, that it was all for nothing indeed - by becoming a criminal in order to save his family, he actually hurt his family. I think that he never realized it until now.

A tenth...? Not to split hairs, but a mere one percent of that would have been more than enough.

It's amusing to me now that I thought the show was intense when I was starting season two. I mean, it was, but...well, you know. This sum***** builds.

Continual reports of blue meth in the Southwest and reaching as far as Europe...basically the gist of it.

Man I was really disappointed with walt jr's reaction to walt. I'm far from a walt apologist but the man is still his father and treated him with nothing but love. To turn his back on him like that wasn't right.

I was actually thinking back to the time walt took on those bullies for him. Walt's done a lot of terrible things but he's always seemed to look-out for walt jr. in one way or another.

Do you have any idea now that they've got no money how small Walt Jr's breakfasts are now?
