Captain Marvel Brie Larson is Captain Marvel!

Yay Brie! A well cast female movie lead Marvel character with acting chops with on point physique and physicality like Zoe and Evangeline!!!

Been a fan of her work since USOT. So great casting.

Everybody should watch United States of Tara if they haven't. Not just for Brie - it's a great show, period. But yes, she is also great in it.

Now hopefully it doesn't backfire like the one and only other time this happened for me. :cwink:

At least this one's got good writers on board, so that's a start. Now let's get a good director too. (come on, Jennifer Kent!) But Carol's casting was the biggest piece of the puzzle so I'm beyond ecstatic that they got that part SO right.
Now you have me worrying again. :funny:

Been a fan since she was trying to be a pop star. So I watched OSoT because of her. Was not expecting what I got, in a good way.

Brie was a dream choice for me among younger choices. Not because of the Oscar, I just thought she was borderline perfect for this particular role and would fit into the MCU family chemistry wise as well.
Stop getting more attractive. :atp:

I still don't like the "younger casting." But, we'll see how she does, it's more about Marvel's philosophy than her specifically for me. So I won't hold that against her really.

Marvel always comes through. Chris Evans, RDJ, Paul Rudd all sloppy choices that turned outt great in the end, :)

I mean, I get wanting an older Carol, but she's literally the best actress under 30 they could have possibly gotten, imo.

^I agree, hence the whole "not holding it against her, giving her a chance" thing. But the fact that Marvel just had to cast an under-30 actress again, especially for this part, that's what bugs me about it. Not her. If they had cast any of the other ones, I'd be saying the same thing.

Brie posted this a little bit ago:

I never understood why some people were talking about her not being good looking enough or something along those lines. I always thought she was an attractive woman.

If that pic of her is any indication, I seriously understated things.....Katie bar the door......

She's definitely attractive enough. And besides, "she's hot" isn't anywhere near the top of my list for attributes essential for an actor playing Carol.

She's right at home:

I'm so extremely happy that Marvel cast Brie Larson as Carol Denvers/Captain Marvel. She has it all: beauty, screen presence, acting chops, and fantastic personality. Like Boseman for BP, they couldn't get a more perfect actress for the role.

My heart weeps for Emily Blunt :(

IA. I think she's way too young but hopefully she works out

Oh, brother. I suppose Marvel should have cast an actress ten years older that can't act, huh?

People also have to remember her first appearance likely won't be until 2018 (possibly in IW Part 1) and her solo film isn't coming out until 2019. That means by the time we see her on-screen, she'll be around 28-29 years old, which is definitely old enough to play Carol.

They haven't cast Jessica Drew yet. :cwink:

Ha, she already changed her Twitter bio (I think the "Generally Stoked" is a new addition there too):

Of all the things in that tweet, 'Dog Mom' was the thing that grabbed my attention.
