Captain Marvel Brie Larson is Captain Marvel!

^ I remember that interview. It's when she talked about how, early in her career, she almost had to give up acting because she couldn't afford acting lessons... it was kind of sad.

And she was so freaking hawt in it. Sorry, but I had to say it.

Well Marvel has a very good track record of hiring, aesthetically pleasing, actresses (and actors as well for that matter). Brie is no exception in that regard.

The thing about Brie is that she is not a hottie in tthe traditional sense. Her and Lizzie are very much "girls next door" beautiful

I've only ever seen her in Kong Skull Island and she was great there.

Today, in stupid things happening on the internet: Brie Larson becomes a "problematic fave" after quoting Ayn Rand on her Instagram. Stay tuned for more updates!

Gotta love that word, "problematic". Bwaha.

It's the new "the fact of the matter is..." cliche, you automatically know exactly what lockstep talking-point bile they're going to spew next.

Rand sucked, but it's like...get some air, people. Brie didn't just kick your dog.

“There was no expression on her face, not even an effort to avoid expression; it was strange to see a human face presenting a bone structure and an arrangement of muscles, but no meaning, a face as a simple anatomical feature, like a shoulder or an arm, not a mirror of sensate perception any longer.”
This completely harmless character description. I kid you not.

Dude, it's Rand. In the eyes of these people she just quoted a Himmler speech in a castle to a bunch of 6'4" blonde Germans who think they're 20th Century King Arthur.

It's moronic, but not unexpected. It's Rand.

But it's so stupid. I don't care who wrote it, at the end of the day it's just a novel. It's not like she quoted Mein Kampf or Eragon.

Even Nazi's said quotable things that sound actually, maybe-kinda decent. And I just threw up a little bit in my mouth just now...

But that quote sounds incredibly harmless, but probably still more than enough for some people to have wig-outs over.

:whatever:

Yeah, it's not the quote, it's who it's by. I don't like Rand either, but it's just this display of the usual "can't possibly tolerate the existance of someone who doesn't share the same philosophy I do" bullcrap.

And, like, this comes off pretty arrogant and demeaning/mean, but I have doubts Larson's exactly some big hardcore-Rand-fan amateur intellectual. She probably doesn't even particularly agree with her on things, just found the quote nice.

And endures this type of **** over it. So lame.

Brie’s never struck me as being a fan of Rand, granted I don’t follow her social media but in interviews and in the tweets I’ve seen from her she definitely doesn’t sound like someone who would agree with Rand. I assume Brie was googling some cool-sounding quotes to put on her Instagram, went to one of those sites where they have various quotes from famous people and just copied and pasted one without double-checking who said it.

No one will remember this “scandal” next year unless Brie acts like a doink about it and I don’t think she will.

No, she cited the quote in the post. She knows who wrote it, and what book its from. She also probably doesn't care. It doesn't make her a Rand-head. She followed it up with another pic accompanied by a quote from Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray. She probably just *gasp* liked the quote, and it looks like she was choosing quotes from famous novels to describe the pictures she was posting. Scandalous!

That's why social media is sometimes the worst. People are constantly looking for things to complain about and going after celebrities and other famous people is how they try to get noticed.

Yes, we know you are Team Stark, Carol.

Eh, this time it's just a bunch of clueless keyboard warriors getting their panties in a bunch over nothing. It doesn't compare to what she had to endure because of her infamous TSA agent tweet. Woke people can be annoying, but they're rarely as vicious as MRAs and other scum like that.

Uh, remember when, last year, Brie showed up at the Oscars looking like this?

Zack Snyder's agent on the phone.
You're joking but I've seen quite a few people reply to Brie's post by asking her if she's in Snyder's movie.

She should proactively pursue a role in it, just purely as a big middle-finger over this. Doesn't matter if she believes the stuff or not, whoever's actually going to be in it probably doesn't either.

Carol finally has long hair again in the books. Im guessing to make her look more like her movie counterpart

That's from Life of Captain Marvel, right? I wish I could read it, but I stopped reading her comics when CWII started and I have a lot of catching up to do.
