I like the Ms. Marvel costume, but I've understood all along that that wasn't what we'd be getting. However, in response to some of the comments:

1. I don't consider sexy and powerful to be mutually exclusive

2. While it might not be realistic for her to dress that way (I think it could be justified if the writers wanted to work for it), it wouldn't be the first time something unrealistic happened in these adaptations. It's a matter of perspective what is or isn't worth sacrificing some realism for.

I like her current costume more or less, but I think Anka's tweak did add some unflattering stitching, and the boots and gloves are kinda ugly
my fave is the costume right after she started going by 'Captain'

I hated that one. Anka took it and made it look good IMO

You've been a member on here for 12 years. You should know that costumes get heavy discussion when it comes to onscreen adaptations. This is nothing new

Lopez's Carol on the other hand seems like a far more attainable goal to me, and that definitely includes the goofy expressions.

ITA. Lopez's Carol is the ideal version to me (minus how he drew the helmet - I much preferred Dexter Soy's version of that), and I hope that's what they use as the basis for this.

Not just for the costume/hair, but as you say, the way he drew her facial expressions an everything really made Carol seem so animated, and I loved that. Examples:

Brie has naturally animated facial expressions as well (there were times her character practically WAS a cartoon - in a good way, lol - in United States of Tara), so I can just easily see her fitting Lopez's version of Carol to a "T."

Yeah, I know, right? I have no problem with Blunt, I just get sick of hearing about her. Sure, she was a badass in Edge of Tomorrow, but she had zero charisma.

I think that was the character rather than Blunt. Other than being a complete and utter badass, her character had absolutely nothing in common with Carol. In my mind, the idea was that she had been through so much that she just got hardened almost beyond recall. Still, there were a couple of scenes where she softened.

I think Emily can be mondo charming........

She deserved awards attention for that one. Absolutely mesmerizing performance. I've seen her in other stuff but it's this performance that got her to orbit my actress radar.

That's not Marvel's decision to make. Spider-Man is still a Sony film. Marvel is just responsible for the creative end of it.

Nooooo......he is a child in the MCU. That picture is upsetting, lol.

For the record though, I have thought about how Carol and Peter could have a really adorable relationship in the MCU. She lost a younger brother in combat afterall, so he could sort of remind her of him, and it's hard not to imagine Pete developing a bit of a crush after encountering her (but would never actually think he had a shot due to age difference), so I think they could form a really cute (strictly platonic!) bond.
