The Dark Knight British release date brought forward!

Me and a mate have tickets booked for a special screening at 8pm on Wednesday the 23rd :) It's at the IMAX in the Manchester Printworks and each person to attend receives a special, numbered, A3 holographic poster

Can't wait :D

I live just down the road from that, are there many seats left? i was gonnago with the missus but im not sure any seats are left and the Odeon site is playing up.

On a side note did anyone see the Tv advert on the sunday night project earlier tonight?

The back rows where you can pick the actual seats are booked up, but there seemed to plenty of room in the other areas. And yes, that website is horrible to use.

Well not to piss on anyone's bonfire, as i'm glad that there's another british based thread lol but the 24th showing isn't the official release date, it's technically an advanced preview, albeit one day, but a preview just the same, release date is still the 25th, but who's counting what's a day between friends. Anyone gonna be at the five o'clock showing at the imax in london(waterloo)

I wanted to see it at the 5 o'clock showing on the 24th, but it was pretty much fully booked. So I tried the 8pm one...fully booked. I managed to get a load of good seats for the 11:30pm one though. Me and 13 friends, should be a great evening :P

Ill be outside waving a big stick at you for seeing it earlier than me.
Im hard to miss, Im the 6'4 guy with a beard and a big black coat.
Oh and Ill probably be the only one WAVING A BLOODY STICK :D

nah just joshin. Id LOVE to book early for the Printworks but I bet it will be packed and the car park across will be full anyway so Ill take the safer option:the next morning :)

Actually it was for The Bourne Identity and then Spider-Man was re-released to capitalise on it. But yes, its dumb, nor is it used for DVDs.

I'll take a look at this new release date thing.

I remember when this happened as I was projectionist at the time, it was a a pain in the arse because we finally got rid of Spider-Man and then Sony forced it back on us.

The 12a rating is a waste of time, just means there are more chavs in the cinema messing around during films.

on another note:

I am seeing the preview showing of TDK on 23rd in Islington.
It is still being released officially on the 25th, films get released on Fridays that will never change.
The previews take place on the 23rd and 24th to boost the sales of the opening weekend, these do not count as offiical releases just preview events.

Hey I think I know you. You're the guy who puts the holes in the doughnuts ain't ya? :hehe:

£12.50 a ticket?! Is this what you guys paid for the 23rd or has it gone up?

Jesus. I might even wait till the 24th.

Yeh, that's what it cost. But as far as I know, that's standard IMAX price.

Indeed.

Guys, I've been looking around and unless this was very recently changed and nobody has picked it up yet, the release date is still 25th. Maybe your sister saw ads for the advanced screenings?

Anyway, major theatres are showing it on the 23rd, the Odeon in Manchester for instance has a single showing at 8pm, before giving it 'propper' advanced screenings on the 24th, then it goes into wide release on the 25th.

Possible. I think she had been drinking, so you never know!

Gah!

..it is Batman though.

I'll probably still go, but convincing my buddies "So yeah, it's a little more than £8..." which is what I told them. Ehh.

And besides, are you sure the 23rd showing is at IMAX? I'm worried it might be standard.

The Dark Knight is going to make loads in IMAX. The first, like, 15 showings are all basically 99% fully booked. And at #12 a ticket and around 200-300 seat in the svreen it could take Iron Man over easily.

That's fantastic, consider yourself envied. And there's an IMAX in Manchester then! Heres hoping I'll be able to see TDK in IMAX glory at some point.

It's deffo IMAX. I could tell by looking at the seating plan :cwink:
One of my buddies has dropped out, but two of us just bought the tickets. See you there eggyface.

I was looking at the times and most of them are fully booked especially if you're wanting to sit in the centre for what Im guessing is the best view. The first date I saw with the centre free is the 30th. Anyway, congrats on getting a ticket!
