Fantasy Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 3

Something akin to Star Trek ‘09 is something I’d be open to considering somewhere down the line. With SMG as, essentially, a presumably far less haggard Leonard Nimoy.

Any sort of full on continuation with this cast (not to mention the whole can of worms that is Joss)… feels hard to imagine. Marsters and Boreanaz are automatically out given their ages (can you believe Spike is 60 now??), Nicholas Brendon is out, Eliza Dushku isn’t acting anymore, a whole bunch of others were killed off. I mean, a continuation that is just Buffy, Willow and Dawn doesn’t seem inconceivable, but idk…
 
It's easy - let her narrate a Slayer anthology series.

Open the series with her teaching a bunch of new slayers and the importance of their history and learning from the past.
 
I think it's worth taking with a huge pinch of salt. SMG is currently out promoting a new show and a spin-off at that. She has been fairly consistent in thinking this 'universe' has potential in it, but also reluctant to return herself and spoil a good thing. So these comments are great for clickbait, but basically offer nothing new and certainly no indication of anything happening.

I'd love a video game still.

An annual Tales of the Buffyverse where she narrates a story from a different Slayer and timeline and they release it on Hulu and Disney+ for Halloween.

Doesnt matter much anyway since Disney could care less about this franchise
 
Will Joss Whedon return? Despite the JL fallout the man is a brilliant writer and this is his baby.

I'd say it's pretty likely that Disney do not care. Buffy is a cult icon sure but that still places her fairly low on the list of acquisitions from that insane Fox buy-out. Disney are making TV shows out of Star Wars and Marvel and Alien; what value would they see in an actual TV property.

The same value they see in Ryan Murphy and all his shows lol.

"Franchises" are very popular right now and AHS is still pretty popular on FX. Now FX is bringing us Alien series. Buffy is a perfect franchise to explore as it has a built in fanbase and the show still gets plenty of talk.

Interview with a Vampire has also been successful so why not do your own version with Slayers.

But....Disney loves to bury shows. If Buffy had been bought by Paramount - we'd probably get a whole verse out of it by now like we are with Dexter and Avatar

…I need to learn more before I have any real thoughts lol. Zhao is a strange fit tonally based on the two projects I’ve seen from her but she’s talented and I LOVE Poker Face so I’m here for the writers. It can certainly be done without Whedon…but we shouldn’t expect the same vibe. Would love to see them get a couple of the old writers like Jane Espenson back though.

Right now I’m wondering if the comics are about to go the way of the old Star Wars EU because I doubt they’ll be taken into account.

I haven't watched that Poker Face show just yet, but if you like the writers then that's a good sign. I trust your judgment.

But hell yeah, the comics will be hand waved. Nobody wants to see Xander/Dawn married, Buffy being a cop (in this climate), or the weird Twilight storyline blah blah, that's all clipped lol.

While I would VASTLY prefer a series focusing on previous Slayers.......Ill take this if its good. I wish SMG and co. would see thats the way you continue the show. If we go sequel......get that team together who knows the series and whats good (because SMG kindo f sucks with her sequel series Cruel Intentions)

There's no way I can see NB being invited back though.
