Fantasy Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 3

Welcome to New Sunnydale.... that's suspicious. Kind of goes with the leaks.

New Slayer? I thought Willow's spell awakened all potentials. :o
Keep in mind, this girl was born seven years after the show went off the air.

Maybe there haven’t been any more slayers popping up until this one.

Womb burster baby. :o

Getting too excited about the Buffy revival moving on more with the casting of Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the new Slayer, I totally missed SMG’s name drop of “New Sunnydale.”

Now this could well be a turn of phase, Sunnydale is associated with Buffy, or hiding where the new location will be…
Or this well could be the location of the new Buffy contituation, someone or something could have rebuilt Sunnydale!!!

The town was originally founded by Richard Wilkins on top of the Hellmouth to be a hub for demonic activity and for him to finally achieve his goal of “Ascension.”

So wouldn’t be too surprised if someone was trying to tap into any residual energy left by the Hellmouth, it could even be the work of “The First Evil” trying to reclaim it’s power.

I was still hoping it’s set in the other Hellmouth: Cleveland, but could see it being set in a rebuild Sunnydale now.

What you think Guys?

A new town being rebuilt....I can kind of see. Hellmouth still being there? I would hate. Any dormant energies should stay dormant longer than 20 years imo. We need a new city or Cleveland.

It makes Chosen kind of nothing if they went into the hellmouth, wiped it out from the inside out and it just comes back.

And if it was rebuilt.....Id fully expect Wolfram Hart to be the ones behind it.

Angel's finale made it seem that Wolfram & Hart were severely crippled after they defeated the Circle of the Black Thorn. I know in the comics they pull Los Angeles into Hell, but still.

I can believe that W&H can rebuild themselves within 20yrs compared to a hellmouth coming back with full force in the same spot. They're basically like evil Watchers Council (or evilier...)

And with saying that.....the Watchers Council should be back as well, new and better than ever. Run by Giles.

I think they'll use the Buffy the vampire Slayer title with SMG just for the pilot in order to get some interest in the reboot (fans of the original show are going to check it out because Buffy is back). However for the actual show itself, should it get picked up for a series, they are going to have to drop the Buffy name from the title because you can't have a show called Buffy the vampire slayer and then have Buffy just be a side character or not even feature.

My guess would be that they would just call the show "The Vampire Slayer" or "The Slayer" and avoid names in the title so that should the lead actress decide to leave, they can just get a new actress in as a new slayer instead. Buffy was over the moment SMG decided she wanted to leave (because you can't have Buffy without Buffy) whereas a show like The Slayer isn't dependent on an actress deciding to stick around or not.

But part of that show's theme was that it was kind of a given they'd come back. They're never really gone. Because evil never is. The Hellmouth, on the other hand, had no such implications. Once gone it was supposed to be gone. Of course, there were other ones (Cleveland!), but that doesn't seem to be the setup here.

It’s nice to see them together. I remember there always being rumours of a feud between them but seems like if there ever was anything like that before, they’ve squashed it now.

Been watching Ted Lasso and I’ve been marveling at how little Anthony Stewart Head seems to have aged in almost 30 years, and then I stopped and remembered “Oh right, he was only in his early forties here.”

He looks practically the same. :wow:

:o

Gawd I hated this relationship. Buffy didn't need a man to be happy, but Joss made sure to make her miserable dammit. :o
It made me happy to learn that SMG was shipping Buffy/Willow, because that's honestly where I felt it should've gone after Tara died. Sorry Kennedy. All of Buffy's men were terrible love interests. I loved Angel in his own show, though.

Don’t tell me you’re one of those Spuffy shippers, Lil…

Kennedy wasn’t my cuppa either, but I saw Buff and Wil more as sisters. And I’m admittedly a Bangel stan since I was 7.

Now Buffy renouncing her toxic vampires for Faith, I could buy that.
