Fantasy Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 3

was he that old as a human when he died? i always figured him in the 20-23 year range for some reason
Tbh, I think they changed the canon sometime during Angel the series because David Boreanaz was so obviously aging, lol. But yes, during that show at some point, they show his grave and according to the years on it, he was indeed 26. I think during these early days on Buffy they really were intending him to be roughly the age you suspected.

Oh E-Man's actually watching??? I'm shocked!

yeah. i am not sure how far he is though because he won't chime in here

thanks FC.
omg, i just finished the first part of the finale
i hate Angelus, but he plays him so so good lol

Yeah you can tell he really enjoyed playing Angelus.

on part 2 right now, really enjoying it so far.
i really liked the scene in the kitchen between buffy and her mom. i really thought she was going to tell her mom that she had died once already.

have you ever tried not being the slayer? lol

i still hate principal snyder lol. lil troll

I loved the Spike/Joyce scene.

And yes, "lil troll" is the perfect description of Snyder. I feel like there was a lot more humor at his expense in S3 you'll probably enjoy.

well CC is on to season 3 yall :awesome:

Buffy's going by her middle name and working at a diner. Since school is about to start, i'm guessing it's been at least 2 months or so since the finale of season 2?

anyways, she's trying to lay low but runs into Lily. Yay for me as I actually did remember and recognize her from the vamp cult. she's changed her name again, and even though she was going by chantarelle (sp) before, it's hinted at that it wasn't her real name to begin with.

did the budget improve this year? lol the demon makeup/effects seem like better. and maybe better fight choreography? too soon to tell i guess.
i like them showing more hints at buffy's superhuman abilities, like when she got hit by the car, and her strength.

i kinda liked the go-between between Joyce and Giles. Joyce is a great tv mom.

and now mushroom>lily>anne is taking over buffy's other life and she's going back to sunnydale yay.
i would like to start another ep, but i gotta get up in 5 hours, so i shouldn't.

Joyce is the best Mom I know in Television. So well written, so sympathic.
There is a great Youtube Channel where every Episode is analyzed. "The Passion of the Nerd".
Take your time! :yay:

Ya never seen these shows before. I binged both Buffy and Angel I wanna say like 2010 or somewhere around then. I still put these shows on all the time and watch random episodes. 2 of my favorite shows ever

Season 3 is one of the shows best seasons.

i'm on episode 3 of season 3, and faith just made her debut.
new baddies in town, and a not-so-new bad guy, at least not to faith

i liked the scene where Joyce realized that for Faith to become a slayer, one had to have died. and she replaced Kendra, and Kendra replaced Buffy, so she realizes that Buffy had died once. I thought it would be a little longer, but i like the fact that Joyce is not okay with that.

ok this guy, Taquitos lol, he's so old that he has cloven hands and feet. Does that mean he's older than The Master? I don't remember the Master having cloven limbs.

Potentially, yeah. We never get a chance to learn any more about him, though.

On a random note, are you skipping the opening theme, CC? If you aren't, then you probably noticed they re-recorded the music for this season (along with the logo makeover), as the original Nerf Herder song they were using for the 1st two seasons was basically a poorly-recorded demo, where the guitar fell behind the beat at one point. I can no longer watch the intro to seasons 1 and 2 and not be bugged by this, lol.

And Faith is what I was referring to when I said I didn't love Kendra, but I loved what she would bring us. Faith is one of the best characters in the Buffyverse, imo.

I see your one of, and raise you THE best

 My fave is Wesley, but you'll get no argument from me as Faith is my #2, followed by (what's probably a more controversial pick) Darla.

Wesley is also among my top favorites  As is Spike, because well...he is Spike, LOL!! I actually think they do some great stuff with Darla later on, so I can see it.

I have such wildly conflicting thoughts on Spike, which I won't get specific on for CC's sake right now, lol. But suffice it to say, first I loved him, then I thought they went overboard and turned him into a fanservice character, then I straight-up hated him, then I loved him again. :D

I 100% agree, it is a roller coaster with him, LOL! It's amazing how the show surprises you with what they do with him continuously.

Yeah it's actually kind of remarkable to me how, despite behind-the-scenes drama with both shows and unexpected cancellation with Angel, all the major characters really did get wrapped up fairly well. I know Cordelia's exit was controversial, but it was still a proper exit/send-off. Everyone had a journey that reached some sort of completion (some happier than others, but still, lol). I was really glad Spike got that... "extra season" he got. A LOT.

Honestly, with the resurrection of The X-Files and even now things like Rosanne and Coach, I am surprised no one has tried bringing the Buffyverse back another season, whether it be Buffy or Angel. Not that I think either shows NEEDS it, but it is all the craze now, so it just surprises me this has not been a conversation yet.

Yeah, thank goodness though, tbh. The vampires have all visibly aged A LOT and as I said, the journeys felt complete...it would just be a sad exercise in nostalgia, imo. But like you, I'm kinda surprised they haven't talked about trying it anyway, lol.

That said...if Joss wanted to bring back the Buffyverse via a Fray show, I'd be on board in a heartbeat.

Agreed. I think how it all concluded was mostly satisfactory, but with the cult following the shows have, it just shocks me, lol.

That said, I would very much like more Firefly! :cmad:

Probably ill-advised as well, but I'd never say no to more Firefly. Those characters are allowed to age. ;)

[looks at the the season 8 comics]

Sorry, but hard pass.

Now, an adaptation of After the Fall is something I would be all in for.

Just bring it back as an animated series. Then it doesn't matter how much James Marsters has aged and you can just replace the cast members that are busy (David Boreanaz) or worthless, drunken criminals (Nicholas Brendon).

SMG refuses. She claims she is a frail old lady.

It still irks me that Eliza denied us of the Faith spinoff we all deserved
