That whole little tirade didn't make a whole lot of sense. I'll be there to see Thor the dark world on opening night and I'll keep watching agents of shield, thanks!

I'm still trying to figure out why we're supposed to boycott The Dark World... Because he didn't like SHIELD?
I got SHIELD sucked, Thor is treated like a ***** in comics to screw the movie. That's how I read it.

I got those pieces but I can't figure out what one has to do with the other.

"They don't show Thor an appropriate amount of love! Let's fix that by making him lose them a hundred million bucks! That'll learn 'em."

I have no clue what he was talking about. Glad I'm not alone in that...

Yeah, that was... hmm. ??

Anyway, did anyone else read the latest issue (the one with Malekith riding a flying white tiger)? I was never a huuuge fan of Malekith, but Aaron looks to be doing some interesting things with him on the horizon. Plus it looks like Thor will be putting together a very World of Warcraft-ish, Fellowship of the Rings-ish, Dirty Dozen-ish team based on the upcoming covers alone.

Malekith basically has no backstory beyond "he ruled the dark elves and then got imprisoned." That's all Simonson ever gave him when he introduced him, and that's all we've seen so far (that I'm aware of, at least). I like that Aaron's delving a little deeper into what kind of king he was and how he's such an egomaniac that he considers the dark elves his and his alone, and all others are just pretenders to his throne.

I'm very much looking forward to the League of Realms, too. A character or two from each of the Nine Realms forming a team alongside Thor sounds utterly awesome. I was kind of hoping for more non-Asgardian mythological supporting cast members when Fraction introduced Asgardia as a new city open to all the species, but, as with all non-headbutt-related things in Fraction's run, I was disappointed.

What do you mean? Granted I am not following super closely every avengers team with thor in it, but Thor in recent history, beat down extremis iron man easily and told stark off in a great issue, highly recomend it, Thor Vol 2, #4 by Strat. thor kills the sentry in siege, defeats angrir and the serpent in FI, is able to hurt the pheonix in space. I will admit that certain writers treat Thor like crap and that needs to change, but on the whole Thor's stength is respected.

My post was referring to this garbled mess, not my opinions.

I am really dissapointed at Marvel's attitude towatds Thor. Maybe they think luck never runs out. After seeing chapter 1 of Shield and falling asleep in the process, I realize they might actaually have been lucky with the Avengers movie and Whedon is most definitely not as good as it seems . So why, then, screw up the one character that has potential to reach a larger audience. Typical people actually like this character. They are making him look like an idiot all the time in the comics. I' ve had it with Marvel.
If you are a Thor fan, let' call for a boycott of the movie. Show some self respect. Lets see how they do without our support. Let them know! Let' s see what Marvel execs think when they hear this. I am on this right now. Show some balls ladies and gentlemen.

I'm not saying I agree with the ranting weirdo or anything, but I can definitely see how someone might read the last few years of Thor's appearances and come away with the feeling that he's a bit of a pushover.

I haven't seen the part where its implied that Sentry wished himself to die, but that very well may have been the case. Of course Thor dies in the process of killing the Serpent, he was destined to, but he was still the only one who could beat the guy who shattered caps shield, and who's worthy were thrashing everyone. Unless you are trying to be deliberately provocative sir, saying Thor is a pushover is a grave offense, and I would have words with thee!

Why do I get the feeling that mwmillet and raimar are the same guy.....?

Aaron might just write me favorite Thor next to Oeming. The tone of this book; especially the last issue is perfect. "We brought a giant. Now, apologize to my hammer". Candidate for line of the year? Yup.

Aaron/Pak tag-teaming a Herc/Thor book would make me tear up. Besides, it's been a while since those 2 went on a bro-venture anyway.

Yeah, Aaron is kicking ass on God of Thunder. That "day in the life" story from #12 is one of my favorite single issues now.

It sucks, I was gonna go back and finish The Mighty Thor eventually; seeing as I bailed on it right around the time Surfer started his human vacation, but my opinion of Fraction's writing can't take this kind of hit. There's no comparison.

That first Surfer/Galactus vs. the gods story is pretty much the only thing worth reading in it. Don Blake gets separated from Thor again, but other than that you're not missing anything.

Thought so. Odin and Galactus' mind war was pretty damn creative. I'll give Fraction that.

It amazes me that Fraction of all people could conjour up a moment like that.

That arc was defined entirely by the quality of its headbutts.

Admittedly Odin headbutting Galactus was pretty cool as was Coipel's art. Fraction's run was really poor and that first arc with the world eaters was terrible. It was interesting that they brought Gillen back to write Journey into Mystery at the same time as he clearly had a better grasp on the title.

I've been out of the loop for awhile. How has the comic been doing storyline wise?
