Or in the outtakes for the DVD. I certainly agree that this would be something to see. Nolan is a real actors' director. I imagine that we'll see some genuine reaction to Ledger from others (as well as Caine) in the cast.

Will just say (in regards to Ledger getting an Oscar nod), if Johnny Depp can get a nod for playing a wise-crackin' pirate in a summer blockbuster that was based off of a Walt Disney Wonder World theme-park ride, then surely Ledger has a chance at getting one for portraying arguably the greatest villain of all time. That is if Ledger is as good as people are making him out to be, and IMO, I truly believe he is.

I think the Academy Awards have been pretentious for years. Sure, they award deserving films sometimes. You can't really ignore "The Godfather". But how do you give an award for best director? Is it the guy with the best work ethic, the one with the most imagination, originality? How many directors do you know who could've rejuvenated the Batman series, or the Bond series?
Ledger playing the part well is enough for me. I think the Academy giving him a nod is alright, but it doesn't confirm how well he did.

yeah, best directing is based on how well you direct a movie in the technical and visual sense. not how good a guy you are, or how well you work with actors, or if you get your scenes done on time and under budget. it's all about the technical prowess. best director is a very tangible thing. but up to a point it comes down to preference. but it's easy to tell a good director from a bad director, if you know what a good movie looks like.

Since Joker goes up to the penthouse in a lift, I'd like to see something similar to Jack's Joker.


When Jack is outside Vicki's apartment, and she opens the door, his face lights up and he smiles(more so than usual). I'd like to see something similar to that. But HeathJoker is in the elevator, and the doors open, and he sees the party and his face just lights up. With his thugs behind him.

yeah, no matter what you'll be reminded of old joker incarnations. and kind of gesticulation will remind you of romero's rather animated performance. i mean, things will remind you of nicholson, i'm sure.

Whether you think that or not, it still doesn't change the fact that it's one of Jack's most memorable roles ever(next to The Shining) and is part of Batman's, and the Joker's, history.
