Does anyone think Calypso would be a good villain in a future Spidey film? Myself...if they went the route to include a female villain...I would prefer her...any thoughts...Yes? No? Would she work on film? Henchwoman instead of main baddie?

She's also one of my favorite villains...

Here's some more info.:
Calypso was a nameless voodoo priestess, possibly of Haitian descent. She was a psychopathic woman who was associated with Sergei Kravinoff, aka Kraven the Hunter. Calypso seemed to enjoy driving Kraven into fits of rage and furthering his hatred of Spider-Man, which ultimately led to Kraven's suicide.
When artist Todd McFarlane started writing the new Spider-Man comic in 1990, he began with the Torment storyline that ran through the first five issues. McFarlane transformed Calypso into a dangerous threat for Spider-Man. The explanation for Calypso's supernatural powers was the sacrifice of her younger sister. She used her abilities to hold Curt Connors, The Lizard, in her grasp, and the two nearly succeeded in murdering Spider-Man. However, the webslinger managed to best them both, and Calypso was apparently killed.
Calypso soon returned, and retrieved the Lizard from The Vault so she could control him again. However, the enraged Lizard slashed her throat open and escaped.
Her voodoo preventing her from truly dying, Calypso returned again in Spectacular Spider-Man #251-253. Commanding a squad of savages, she attacked Spider-Man and Alyosha Kravinoff, the son of the original Kraven the Hunter. Desiring revenge for losing Sergei, she used her powers to drive Spidey and Aloysha into fighting each other. Spidey and Aloysha fought off her spell, and shared a handshake. Aloysha said that he would hold Calypso at his mansion, so the villainess could tell him about his long-lost father. However, Aloysha slew Calypso instead.
Calypso would use her voodoo to survive yet again, her spirit hopping into a series of host bodies. She has come into conflict with Spider-Man and Daredevil, most notably in a series of campaigns involving her enthralled servant Simon Garth, Zombie.

Powers/Abilities:
Calypso was well-versed in the religion and practice of voodoo. She often used voodoo drums, potions, and charms. Calypso used mind control, resurrection, and poisons.

Thanks to wikipedia for the info...

If they went for something a little darker I think she could work...

again...any thoughts!?

ehh if Kraven has a second, it should be Chameleon; much better character imo.

Only if we also get to see the ghost of Kraven with half his head blown off.

I wouldn't like to see her, because I don't like the character, I would rather have Chameleon instead.

I think she has a better shot at being alongside Kraven than Chameleon. And why also I think she'd be good too (skip the voodoo crap just make her Kraven's love who he avenges after she is killed by The Lizard or something.)

Absolutely. I think she can work as sort of a love interest to Kraven. She would never be a major component to the story or have much screen time just kind of show Kraven talking to her from time to time while on the hunt for Lizard. But as far as the voodoo stuff and magic it should not be included.

I disagree with you 130% about her having a better shot of being alongside Kraven then Chameleon. Chameleon was Stan's first Spidey villain, and is probably among the top 15 or so Spidey villains ever.

It was Chameleon who even introduced Kraven to the idea of hunting Spider-Man.

Callypso on the other hand is a boring 1980s introduction character. No motive prior to Kraven's suicide, other than that she's "Evil".

I'd rather see The Spot in a movie than Calypso.

Calypso?oh yeah she was the extra villian in the battle arena in the spiderman 2 videogame, lol

But here's why it should go Kraven and Calypso first before Chameleon. Calypso would get killed by Lizard, Kraven would then come to avenge her only to be accidentally killed by Lizard while fighting against Spider-Man at the zoo. Since, Connors would be cured at the zoo, Chameleon would think and blame Spider-Man for killing his brother, thus waging a one-man war against the webhead.

I would rather not see any link what so ever between Kraven and Chameleon.

Disney used the name Calypso in "At World's End" remember.
