It's definitely Evans in looks, but the look of both pictures and how he carries himself is completely different. I see two different characters. Not just the same actor playing both.

Yep! That's the whole point! Chris Evans is going to prove to everyone, that he's got not just another ordinary role in some movie, that everyone will forget after seeing it, but rather something special & unique, which, if it succeeds, will be his best role for the time being & which people would want to see from time & time again.

I believe in Evans, I really do. So, god bless Captain America & Joe Johnston, who, I think, was finally able to make the movie of his life.

Evans always looks really different whenever he changes his hair, which is practically every film he does.

You watch F4, and Evans Storm is so hyperactive and energetic, his face never stops moving, he really comes alive. Evan's Rogers, from what we've seen so far and how he's been described by other actors in the film, is literally the sentinel of liberty

Well, didn't this thread take a very hot turn :cwink: I approve of picspamming the Cap forum when news slows down. That said, I really hope it picks up soon. DYING over here for more Cap scoops.

I'm digging this conversation about Chris' acting chops. I've always thought that since people identify him so much with Johnny Storm, in fact saying he was by far the high point in both FF movies, wouldn't that suggest he's actually GOT some talent behind those muscles? He was perfect as JS, and reading/listening to his interviews about Captain America and his take on Steve Rogers, it really seems like he's developed an affinity for the character.

I really do have high hopes for Chris' performance here.

I was about to say, I bet Suzanne would approve of all this lol

He's gonna kick ass, been saying it since day one. Pouty lips be damned!

He is a pretty versatile actor who knows how to have fun when he could. One of the more likable actors in the business.

I remember when he was brought up all those years ago in the casting thread, and I said he'd be great for the role but I never thought Marvel would offer it to him (due to Human Torch). Well, here we are about two months out from him blowing us all away.

Does anyone think Chris will be a better lead here than Chris Hemsworth in Thor? Because Hemsworth, being an unknown really, carried the movie amazingly with his charisma and surprisingly great acting.

I don't think you can be a better leading man than Hems was in Thor or RDJ was in Iron Man. But I think Evans is going to match them in every way. Can't wait to see even a pic of the three of them in costume in a room together.

The Losers, also known as the movie where Captain America/Human Torch, the Comedian, Heimdall, Uhura and DJ Williams join forces to fight Alex Shawn and Ricky McKenna.

I just hope Evans can match RDJ and Hemsworth. I don't wont it to be a sad irony where the person I was looking forward to more in seeing and completely believing in with confidence doesn't turn in the performance I was hoping for.

God, it's such a possibility for him to be like RDJ and Hemsworth. If that happens, Marvel wins so damn much. We won't have to worry about a damn thing for Avengers. I think there will be more criticisms of Evans than Hemsworth though. But all that matters is what I think of him.

Well I certainly hope he does good work as I want to be able to believe he is Marvel's consumate leader.

I agree, I don't think he can be better only because Hemsworth (and RDJ) were awesome. Can he match previous performances? I hope so and think he can.

I hope Evans surpasses everyone's expectations even the fans supporting him, like myself. I was really surprised by Hemsworth as Thor, since I thought he looked okay in the trailer. But in the actually movie, I thought his performance was almost as good as RDJ as Stark. I'm hoping Evans can't meet that standard for Cap & honestly, I think he can do it.

She said: "I think she's quite stubborn, a slightly frustrated woman who struggles with being a woman in that time.

"But more importantly she's a modern woman and she sees something in Captain America that she relates to, and becomes kindred spirits.

He treats her very differently to how she's been treated by lots of men, in this kind of dominated world she lives in. So she's very much a fighter.

I could talk for hours on end with this quote. Like every female love interest character in every movie nowadays, she must be strong and independent. Whatever happened to that kind lady who loved men, and was pure of heart... rather then being jealous of them? When did kindness and just being a woman become bad. Why must they become men?

I have no words.

Despite the fact that he's been the laughingstock of the Captain America boards for some time now, he just keeps on attempting to troll. That's true perseverance. Steve Rogers would be proud.

I can't EVEN BEGIN TO.... :wow:

How about making her a three dimensional character in a predominantly male-heavy story to appeal to female comic book readers and movie watchers like, say.... I dunno... ME!!

We're not in the 50's or 60's anymore. There are still major inequalities between male and female depictions in comics to this very day. (see Horn, Greg, and Catwoman art and EVERYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH WONDER WOMAN EVER! And the fact that the big two are pretty scared of producing anything that revolves around their major female heroes.)

When I see Peggy Carter, who's a character set in the 40's, being feisty, intelligent, and good at what she does, independent of merely being the love interest, believe me THAT alone would make me admire what the filmmakers were striving for with this movie. And to applaud Marvel's decisions for her character.

I really think some people are out of touch. Trolling or no, some opinions need to be replied to.

Peggy Carter in this movie is sexy as **** both in looks and attitude and you can take that to the bank The Mayor.

Maybe it is just me, but I am more attracted to stronger girls than weaker ones. So, I am more than happy to have a strong love interest for Cap.
