Nice set up there. I had seen the war bond picture before, but didn't know it had actually been made into a poster....would love to have one of it.

THAT particular image I spent HOURS cleaning up in Photo Suite. there wasn't an actual authorized poster but there are many fan pieces as posters.
MINE is three 8 1/2 x 11 typing paper prints glued together lol Same with the vintage poster under it

Ah, cool idea...I may try that too.

hahaha I just had an AWESOME idea.
I was going to make a wallpaper of Deathlok's targeting system behind someone at the computer.
The targeting system has audio listed on it. I could have Zola talking from that Monitor. lol

cheaper too. 75 cents for the three copies lol

EDIT if you do try it. use an exacto knife to trim the excess off, and a Glue STICK to glue them together

So yeah, finally saw the movie, if anyone still cares
Don't think there's much I can add, but:

It was excellent, great performances, great direction, great action, all that jazz.
Really dug Falcon and Winter Soldier, very excited to see where they take Bucky from here.
Also, all the returning actors did a great job, Evans owned the movie (I must strongly disagree with those who said he was overshadowed by Widow or anyone else, this movie was all Steve) Sammy L and Scarlett were perfect in their supporting roles.

My few, minor, nitpicks would be:
the Score (Am I really the only one who misses the big, recognizable scores from the 70's 80's and 90's??), Some very small CGI things that took me out of it for a second (Bucky's arm looked just a tad fake in a couple scenes), and I'd say the film is not quite as "fun" as IM or Avengers.
Granted, the plot and tone of the film required it to be more serious, and the humor was funny and well balanced, and I'm not one who needs the movies to be laugh out loud funny. Avengers humor would've been wayy too much, and I wasn't a fan of the humor in Thor 2. That said, this movie didn't quite fill me with the same level of nerd-joy that IM or Avengers did, though I suspect that was largely due to the novelty factor of both of those films.

I also have to attribute part of that to the audience
My midnight audiences for IM and Avengers were fantastic
The Saturday night audience for this one was just okay (I heard one guy walking out say the end Credit scene was "crap", leading me to think maybe they should have switched the order of the end-credit scenes)

So I'm saying 4.5 outta 5 stars for me
One of Marvel's best, for sure, thoughtful and affecting, while maybe not being as subjectively "fun" as some of the others.

Here's what Kevin Feige had to say about the film specifically about Stephen Strange: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/31561/marvel-s-feige-on-winter-soldier-spoilers

With "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" now out worldwide, it's time to talk about where the Marvel Cinematic Universe goes from here following the events of that film.
SPOILERS AHEAD - DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER"
Whilst doing press rounds for the film, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige answered some spoiler-related questions and his answers are now being published following the release of the film in North America.
First up - the name dropping of Stephen Strange (aka Doctor Strange) as a target of Project Insight. Asked about the reference, Feige tells Crave Online:
"Well, 'we' know what it means and where we want to head with it, but we were comfortable with keeping it in there and leaving it in there because there are a few different ways to interpret it.
The whole thing, what Agent Sitwell's saying is, this algorithm is going to predict if you're going to become a problem for Hydra or not. So you don't have to just be Tony Stark, actively plotting to save the world. You could be a kid whose SAT scores and whose essays have indicated that you're going to be a problem one day.
So is Stephen Strange the Sorcerer Supreme? Probably not at that point. Is he an unbelievably talented neurosurgeon who's opinionated and kind of arrogant? Probably. That might put him on the list."
Then there's the question of where is Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) which a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent actively asked in the film. We'll get the answer to that in next year's "Avengers: Age of Ultron":
"We will discover, later, the answers to that question. But it really came down to how many players can you have on the field at this time? We really wanted to bring in Falcon, we really wanted to team [Captain America] up with Black Widow, we really wanted Fury to have more of a part than he's ever had in any of the other movies before. We wanted, ever so briefly, to introduce Sharon Carter. And we had a fun place for Maria Hill to be involved.
So we didn't want to just have, 'Hey, I'm Hawkeye! Hey, I'm Iron Man!' We want to avoid the brief cameos of the week. Not every character from every movie is going to be in Avengers: Age of Ultron, for sure. But Joss (Whedon) is excited and, for the characters you haven't seen since the first Avengers - like Hawkeye, like Hulk - there's a reason for that, and that gets showcased quite prominently in Avengers: Age of Ultron."
Then of course, there's the biggest change of the entire film - the dismantling of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the wake of its infiltration by H.Y.D.R.A. - which will have a major impact on both the TV series and "Avengers: Age of Ultron":
"One of the first people I ever pitched that idea to was Chris Evans, on the set, on the very last day of production of Avengers 1... The TV show didn't exist when we were starting this. But they were well aware of what was happening, because I said 'This is what we're doing.'
The other thing that we thought would be fun was using this to change the dynamic for The Avengers, so that the safety net - if you can call it that - of a giant government organization with massive resources, of which they were just sort of the front, or the A-Team at the head of that organization... take all that away. So when they come together in the next movie it's just them."
Finally the end credits scene where its suggested Baron Von Strucker has been using Loki's sceptre in experiments that have killed all but a pair of twins (Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch) who survived and scored their super powers from it in the process. It has been speculated that the stone in the sceptre is actually one of the infamous Infinity Stones. Feige says:
"Well, it's certainly pure speculation at this point. I'm not even sure if we even recognize Loki's scepter [as an Infinity Stone], but that's a big hint as to what will be causing them trouble in the next movie."

Nice, at least the MCU is still growing lol

Isnt Batroc supposed to be French ?

Im not gonna, as an Algerian myself, I thought it was pretty cool :woot:

For any Bechdel nerds out there… the movie passes it a little bit, when Hill and Widow talk about ballistics during
Fury's surgery

It's a couple of lines, but I think it counts.

IDK, I think that Bechdel nonsense is so ridiculous

...
A movie like this or Avengers, with some great, strong female characters, can barely (or even not) pass the feminism test

whereas something like Spring Breakers or Sucker Punch would pass with flying colors
...

that right there says all I need to know about the "Bechdel Test"

LOL! I stopped relying on it ages ago. I only being it up b/c I know there are some who do still use it and it was discussed earlier in the thread.

Did anyone else not notice Joe Russo himself in the film the first time?? When I realized it was him the second time I thought it was pretty cool.

After Hill frees the 3 musketeers; she takes them to that bunker where they discover Fury is alive

Russo is the doctor
Ah yes. I thought there was something about him. Will have to check that out next time.
