Captain Britain and MI-13

I remember seeing a movie a couple of years ago called Blow Dry staring Alan Rickman, Josh Hartnet and Bill Nighy about an hair dressing compitition set in a Yorkshire village and Josh Hartnet attempts a Yorkshire accent. Its hilarious!! :lmao:
Film critic James King voted Hartnets yorkshire accent as one of the top five worst attempts at an British accent. Keanu Reeves in Dracula was another one as well.
Well, practically all (okay, "most") of your actors that we get imported speak the Queen's English. At least they do for movies. What else are we supposed to think?

Also, we're well aware of the Scouse accent. The Beatles were bigger than Jesus*, you know.

* *hides Beatles records from angry mobs*
The actor Jason Issacs who is a scouser says Paul McCartney's accent is americanized and not a proper scouse accent!

Thats more Queens English. More WW1 RAF pilot "chocks away" style.

Like the Armstrong and Miller RAF pilots sketches :woot:

Yep. Decent but not as good as Life on Mars.
Did you watch both series because i thought the second series was alot better then the first. I watched the US Life On Mars ending and i was shocked for about 5 seconds and then just started laughing my bollocks off......:wow:

The CBR column PERMANENT DAMAGE went into a meta-analysis about why CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI-13 failed to catch onto an audience last week. It's a decent read.

Very interesting article

But I still maintain that the big reason that this book hasn't sold well is simply because it has Britain in the title and most people who don't know the history of the character just think he is a Captain America rip off.

I admit I don't much about Captain Britian and he is not a fave. I picked this up for Wisdom and Lady J. I don't really know any of the others that well. Even so I thought they were written well and the stories very interesting. I am not happy with this dying so fast. :(

I watched both series of Life on Mars. Was there a second series of Ashes to Ashes? I didn't know there was one.

Do you happen to know if the Gene Hunt twitter account I've been following was really created by the BBC? Because it's just hilarious.

Which ending did you prefer??
What do you mean? As I recall, [blackout]Sam wakes up, feels dissatisfied with the hands-off approach of modern police work, and jumps off a building to return to the '70s. Are you asking if I preferred to think that he was just having a funky coma dream the whole time and wound up killing himself for that fantasy or if the coma really was some kind of conduit to the '70s and he really did time-travel? If so, I prefer the latter, although the former wouldn't bother me too much. Real or not, the '70s world kicked the present-day world's ass.[/blackout]

No which ending do you prefer, UK Life On Mars or USA Life On Mars??

How did the American Life on Mars end? I never got around to watching that version.

The ending to American Life on Mars is one of the most horrid endings ever. It's laughable.

For heaven's sake, someone tell me how it ended!

Where to start...

Urm basically they are all in status on a mission to Mars in 2035 (you see they are looking for Life on Mars) and his life in 2008 was actually just a virtual reality program helping him stay sane and active when in status. That malfunctioned and the program somehow made it the 70s instead. Oh and Gene Hunt is Sam's Dad and erm not called Gene Hunt and is called Major Tom (you see they are on a gene hunt when looking for Life on Mars). Hyde is the name of the spaceship too or something.
