Captain Britain and MI-13

I still have not got a hold of the latest issue so can some kind dude post a picture of Faiza and Dane in full costume please. Also who are the women Brian and Pete go out on a date with??

Just random women, I believe. I thought Brian wasn't really on a date, though; more of Pete's wingman.

Yeah most dates don't like it when you go on and on about your wife, then send them to the guest room.

I read some old excalibur from Chris Claremonts run.
Damn people complain about the whole Pete Wisdoms jailbait Kitty Pyrde relationship but in Claremonts run Sat-Yr-9 seduces a 15 Kitty which is even more creepy.

I thought Kitty was like 16 at the time. Isn't that the UK's age of consent?

I got the impression that Brian was acting as Pete Wisdom's wingman and was trying to enjoy himself, although still a bit rattled upon being reunited with a vision of his dead wife (which he didn't know was real).

Kitty's age is all over the map. She was nearly 20 until Claremont returned to the X-books in the late 90's and decided she was "just" turning 18. So if you want to go with her being 16 when Wisdom was rocking her cradle, so be it. ;)

In his defense, Kitty has had a thing for older men ever since she joined the X-Men.

Well, the age gap between Piotr and Kitty is probably a bit less than that between Wisdom and Kitty. Probably 5 years to the latter's 10 or maybe even 15.

According to Marvel, when Colossus joined the team in 1975, he was 19 years old. Cockrum and Bryne apparently drew the oldest looking 19 year old ever, but we'll say Commie Farm Living is hard on a boy. Kitty joined up in 1980, and she was 13, although turned 14 fairly quickly. By the 70's into the 80's, Stan Lee was off the Fantastic Four and thus the idea of slow moving Marvel Time was being crafted by editorial. Colossus apparently was never willing to actually sleep with Kitty until she was 18 years old, which she was by the end of the 90's. They finally did sleep together in AXM circa 2006-2007 or so. Which means Kitty was 18, maybe almost 19, when she died. Which of course means Colossus by now should be about 24-25 years old, even if he always looks and talks like he is older.

So, yeah, 4-5 year gap between Kitty and Piotr is about right. But that would mean Wisdom is younger than Colossus, which I frankly don't buy at all. He always looks and acts like a guy in his early 30's, at least since Cornell got a hold of him. But the ages of Marvel characters are those things they don't like people thinking about too much. :p

Yeah, I mean, if you read X-Factor, Monet does not come off as the barely legal little 18 year old she is. Everyone on the team (except Layla) is older than her by at least a couple of years. You'd swear she was in her early to mid 20s, though.

EEEEWWWW, are you serious?! What issue was that it?

From Alan Davis forum
Hello Mr. Davis!

The following was on the Comixfan chat boards. I was wondering if you could shed any light on the subject.

Thanks!

DM Jim

In Excalibur CC and AD hinted that Courtney/Sat-Yr-9 wanted something from Kitty – it was a power-play though and not a mother/daughter thing. She knew that Kitty was the only one no longer displaced in time and therefore she wanted to capitalize on that for her own gain.

Another poster:

It was more than that. Claremont has mentioned in various threads how he and Alan had a special connection building up between Courtney and Kitty, and we saw the recurring theme with them in their alternate selves during the Cross Time Caper -- first with Courtney as the dowager Queen of that universe and Kate Pryde her chosen successor and intended bride for Prince Billy.

Also Chris and Alan were also giving deliberate visual clues, like when Kitty drove away with Courtney in the jaguar and we see them side by side looking like mirror images, only Kitty is younger with brown hair.

Then, after Excalibur had returned, and Alan is writing the series, Courtney/Satyr9 says that Jamie can have the rest of Excalibur save for Brian and Kitty. Brian she wants as a paramour, and Kitty... well she has special plans for Kitty.

Courtney has always been quite keen on Kitty. But then it seems a theme for the White Queens of the Hellfire Club to have a fascination with our Miss Pryde.

Alan Davis reply
I hope I'm not going to disappoint you Jim but although I knew Chris had some plan for Sat Yr 9 to corrupt Kitty and that the various Cross time versions of Saturnyne were attracted to Kitty, I had no idea what, if any, the goal of this relationship was to be. I just played it as a lesbian affair. Kitty the innocent victim of a wicked woman-- I thought all of scheming was just a ruse to keep Kitty interested.

I mean, the Hellfire Club isn't really into world domination thats just a ploy to get the women to dress up as dominatrix... Isn't it?

I'm loving Vampire state

Pete Wisdom doing his best Horatio Caine impression. I can imagine Roger Daltrey screaming (won't get fooled again) style after the "Council Of War" line. You know its a serious situation when Wisdoms sober and not smoking.

Also loved Cornells obscure Marvel UK characters Motormouth and Killpower. Those Marvel UK characters are in a limbo so deep I'm surprised anyone remembered them.

Also Dracula gives the Republic of Ireland a free pass?
Perhaps he doesn't like his blood tasting of Guinness flavored blood!

Faiza codename is excalibur now too. It suits her I guess. Hope her and Dane keep those costumes they are sweet.

Also Dracula calling out Eric 'BLADE THE DAMN VAMPIRE KILLER' Brooks!
Dracs got some stones i'll give him that, Blade eats vampires for breakfast.

I dont like their costumes, thought dane actually looked much better in just the helmet and leather jacket

Prob cause Bram Stoker was Irish.

If anyone's interested, Captain Britain's Twitter page apparently has Brian telling a story about a case we didn't see in the comic, involving a spaceship of unknown alien origin and some kind of different alien tech in nearby houses. It starts on the 1:51 AM, January 25th entry and is ongoing.

American-recipe Life on Mars has introduced 'twirl' into my vocabulary, for which I am eternally grateful.
