Captain Britain and MI-13

It's like what If James Bond was suddenly the guy in charge.

I think his being a jerk works in MI-13 because he's not "that guy." He's not the dissenting a-hole of the team who rolls his eyes every time the team leader opens his mouth. This time, Pete's the man in charge, and his abrasive personality makes him come off as the gruff boss-man. And it works for him.

Yeah I never read anything with him in it before this series but any jerkiness on his part is balanced by Cap "apple pie" Brit. Or would that be "kidney pie"?

I'm thinking Cap "Tea & Biscuits" Britain.

I never cared for Pete Wisdom before, either; certainly not in the old 90's EXCALIBUR days when he was "just another guy with a claw-power" basically. I know there are still a few Kitty/Wisdom shippers out there, though. Even if, thanks to Claremont insisting that she had "just" turned 18 when he hopped back onto UXM for his "Neo" arc in the late 90's, I guess that means Pete was chasing jail-bait. Thanks, Chris. Who says he needed an editorial mandate on a side series to ignore progress with characters he created? :p

(Granted, to be fair, Kitty always did like chasing older men. She was 13-14 and all but begging the college aged Colossus to mack with her back in the 80's.)

Wisdom works in this series for the reasons everyone states. He is a bit of a gruff, hot tempered jerk but as a leader type it works, and it balances him with Brian Braddock. Brian is more of a straight-forward superhero while Wisdom has that extensive black ops experience; some could see it as akin to when Nick Fury and Steve Rogers used to team up. Really, everyone in the book works.

Since I am sure this title will be on "hiatus" any moment now, I wouldn't hold out hope for a Psylocke appearance. Heck, we should be lucky that the Meggan subplot will be covered in a one-shot/annual thingie.

It doesn't count as jailbait if the age of consent is 16 in the country where they had sex.

So let that be a lesson to all statutory rapists out there. If she's willing but only 16, take a trip to the UK.

It is either interesting or scary that you know the legal age of consent in the U.K.

Uh...thanks for the clear up? :funny:

No matter what part of the world I'm in, I'm not into women who have barely just had their period. :p

Some girls start at nine so who knows? Maybe Kitty started early. :p

This discussion of Kitty having sex at a young age keeps reminding me of Ellen Page in Hard Candy. Great movie, but it's kinda funny to think of the two main characters as Shadowcat and Nite Owl.

Wow, I did not know that was him. I knew I knew him from somewhere when I saw Watchmen. :p

The apple pie is British!

I love apple pie

Yeah, but we sorta claim association with it. "As American as apple pie." But don't worry; you still lay claim to tea, crumpets, fish & chips wrapped in newspaper, meat pies, beans on toast, baked puddings, mutton, haggis, and Grey Poupon (despite it being American in origin).

You lot lay claim to most things that are not yours anyway.....

We're allowed to. We're basically just a mish-mash of different cultures.

Also, we got lots of guns and we aren't that bright. People like that you just let them have whatever they want.

Maybe it had something to do with the idea of vampires flying a pirate ship IN SPACE. That's a bit daffy, but in a good way.

Solid preview. It seems as if Union Jack will get involved, although sadly it seems that Dracula's plan to try to create strife between him and Blade by targeting Spitfire may come to a head despite Blade's warnings of it.

The whole thing, It's very, Planerary awesome really. Weird ass s**t that kind crawls up into your brain and has rough sex with your medulla album gata.
