Despite her introduction at this year’s Hall H, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers doesn’t seem likely to take part in that event as Feige stated that she wouldn’t be appearing in anyone else’s films until her own launches in 2019, “unless she does.”

Has Bigelow ever shown interest in CBM's or been asked to helm one? She would be a good pick especially with Carol's military background.

I'd be thrilled with Bigelow, but A.) she doesn't fit the Marvel Studios "up and coming directors" M.O. they've been going with since Phase 2 and B.) Her filmography of the last decade or so suggests this wouldn't really be her thing anymore. She seems to have a very specific focus these days.

I'm still rooting for Jennifer Kent, but would be cool with Michelle McLaren, too.

Good points. They do have a record of using some established behind the lens talent to get a series up and running for the first film though, like Johnston and Branaugh, and of course Favs with IM. But it is likely they will go for a someone new with a bit of a pedigree like with BP.

I get the feeling they only did that back then because they were an upstart studio who didn't have an established, well-oiled machine going yet and NEEDED the experience those guys brought to the table to make sure this thing would work. These days, THEY'RE the ones who bring the experience and knowledge of what makes these things work, while the directors are just there to bring some fresh voices to the conversation, imo.

Yeah, they wouldn't announce the Actress before having a Director unless she was gunna show up elsewhere first
Typically the director likes to have a little say on, like, casting their leads and stuff
