Captain Marvel Captain Marvel General Discussion and Speculation - Part 3

I think everyone interested in Brie's work should watch her in United States of Tara. Of all the roles I've seen her in, that was her most "Marvel-y" character to date, imo. Plus it's a great show, so, bonus.

The movie will have to elaborate on how she got her powers. How earth/SHIELD is involved too. And as mentioned already, why her "disappearance".

Carol might be very active in space, but on Earth is labeled as "vanished without a trace"

I think similar to Janet/Wasp, Carol will be "missing" and the time relative to her disappearance will to her be the blink of an eye. Hell, the circumstances of her going MIA could be how she gains her powers.

The idea of Skrulls brought me here...

This film is becoming interesting as time goes by. I cannot wait to see the first teaser trailer

If you watch it from the beginning, be warned, you'll probably hate her character at first. But over the course of the show she evolves into the most well-adjusted person on it, and it's a great journey to watch. But when I say she's "Marvel-y," I mean she's snarky and colorful and that's pretty much true throughout the run.

MCU fans rewatching all the MCU films trying to figure out who's been a Skrull this whole time... :D

Come to think of it, there have been a couple of MCU characters that have acted out of character in recent films. Antman and Hawkeye leaving their families to go rogue with Cap in Civil War is a bit suspicious.

I would like it if someone we least suspect like Maria Hill and Sharon Carter being Queen Veranke.

What if the Skrulls infiltrated Hydra who infiltrated SHIELD?

I sure hope so then it would explain how she knows not only Fury but Phil and Maria Hill

What if the Skrulls infiltrated Hydra who infiltrated SHIELD?

Hydra were the good guys really who were trying to improve the morals of SHIELD agents.

In Agents of SHIELD, could they explain away Grant Ward's behaviour as him being a Kree agent having posed as a Skrull who infiltrated Hydra and then acted as a double agent in SHIELD?

The Skrulls posing as Shield agents who are secretly Hydra is some Inception level stuff ;)

I know Carol is powerful and all, but She is going to have other heroes to help out, right?. The Kree, Skrulls stuff feels almost like an Avengers level type threat.

Mar-vell and Ronan possibly.

Some other cosmic heroes like Quasar and Nova could appear I suppose.

The movie will primarily be about Carol though so I wouldn't expect too many other heroes showing up and taking the spotlight off Carol.

That is not out of character and not a clue that they are Skrulls

Skrulls posing as SHIELD agents hey that would not be that crazy

That's not crazy at all. That would be very low-level infiltration. It's better to be Skrulls posing as Hydra posing as SHIELD.

In fact, Jemma Simmons and Bobbi Morse could've been Skrulls posing as Hydra posing as SHIELD posing as Hydra.

And Director Mace could've been a Kree posing as a Skrull posing as Hydra posing as SHIELD posing as an Inhuman posing as a human who has to take drugs to pose as an Inhuman.

General Ross needs to be a Skrull. Coulson could be a Skrull rebel who got converted by meeting Cap after collecting his trading cards.

And with the Skrulls infiltrating HYDRA then I wonder if there is a connection with Robert Redford's late character of Alexander Pierce if he knew that Skrulls existed in HYDRA/SHIELD or other people like Sitwell or

:pal:

I suspect the Agents of SHIELD show are going to make the MCU very messy if they let them use the Skrulls. Lets keep the Skrulls away from that show now, shall we

With the Kree Ronan has to be involved especially if Captain Marvel is supposed to be set in the 90s and at the time of the first Guardians it was set in the 2010s so Ronan would have to be alive in the 90s

All this is getting me interested in reading secret invasion. :)

2019 cant get here fast enough.

Thats what i figured too
If shes blasting around space at near light speed she should be experiencing time more slowly right?
But then Quill should look a bit younger than his age too though... idk

Yes, but that's because he's inside a spaceship. The spaceship negates much of that craziness because of sci fi magic.

From what I remember, that's not saying a whole lot. LOL. Toni Collette was frelling brilliant. I didn't watch the later episodes (yet), but nobody was what could be considered in any way "normal".

When you watch the first episode, be prepared to be confused. There was a point where I went "Oh.....NOW I get it".
