I am wondering what if any official reaction to Carol we will get to see.
I don't think it's unreasonable to assume Carol was not known to the public. But how the authorities reacted is another story, and I am speculating that is how Fury will factor into things in some way.
It's not out of the realm of possibility that she had some big public battle but given what has been shown in the movies and shows it seems there is no indication of some kind of large, well known super human activity between when Cap disappeared to when Tony premiered as Iron Man on the world stage.
So there had to be a cover up of some kind. What I hope is we get to see the tension inherent (and perhaps some commentary) in an active duty member of the U.S. military suddenly having possession of such awesome power. There are some questions I think would come up. This isn't like with Captain America where Steve volunteered to be experimented on. I think there would be issues on just how much authority the military and government would have on her. This goes well beyond the normal power an air force pilot has in any given situation or even extreme ones. Think of bomber pilots that might deliver nuclear payloads. In this case Carol is a nuclear payload in human form.
I hope they at least touch on these issues, not least because it is logical in my opinion but the conflicts would make for good dramatics too.
