Eh, Batfleck is my favorite Batman physically, so that is a nope from me. But that is for another thread. And I would welcome an older Clooney for Batman with a better script, Batman Beyond type thing. I ain't stuck on nostalgia the way of Keaton. .

Well, reality agrees with me and that's all that matters. Neither of them has the range and the intensity required to play Batman, and that's why they failed.

But you're right, this isn't the right place to talk about.

It is not like this is the first time a bony girl who is accused of not being able to smile, emote or act to lead a CBM film. The lead in that one didn’t even have a good track record of being able to smile, emote or act in a film but that turned out fine. This will be fine too. It won’t be fine fine, but enough fine to give it a second go. Next time they need people to ham it up like Hardy or Carrey in a trailer and movie, because that? Equals to good acting. God is love.

Some of these comments act like there's just a specific way a woman superhero should be acting/portrayed (basically the "strong woman character" syndrome). I thought her to be a bit bland but come on, even going by the trailers alone she ain't doing a worse job than Hardy, Boseman, Gadot or Momoa.

People are quick to write things off if it isn’t a movie they were already in the bag for.

Gadot was stiff and unconvincing in those first couple trailers and Momoa is a straight up mediocre-at-best actor, but it ended up not mattering for the final product. You'd think an Oscar-winning actress would get more benefit of the doubt than those two, but nope.

Not that it really matters. 95% of the people here complaining will be there opening weekend regardless

She’s coming out of binary form so it’s falling. I don’t get what the issue is. It’s a comic movie and she can fly and is a knee warrior. Lots of unbelievable things.

Bad special FX is an issue to me. Why does a video game look more believable than a 100+ million dollar picture?

I actually think the FX in this was more convincing than any recent Marvel or DC trailer with the exception of maybe Infinity War.

Ragnarok, Aquaman, and Black Panther all had multiple shots in the trailers that looked more incomplete than what we're seeing here. I'm actually at a point where I think complaining about unfinished FX in a trailer is just a moot point because it seems that's just what we have to deal with nowadays.

The only problem is if it looks like trash in the final product.

I think it's safe to assume that the 2016 Academy Award winner for Actress in a Leading Role will be able to eke out at least a "Momoa-level" performance.

lol for real...everybody's talkin about aquaman like its the second coming while this trailer gets an absurd amount of s**t, but AM has two lead actors who we KNOW are kind of awful

and I really don't see any issue with the VFX, if anything I'd say this is some of the more solid and polished visuals I've ever seen in a CBM trailer
and on the acting front, I can only hope people give the actual movie a chance and don't base their entire assumptions about her acting skills off of 2 lines of dialogue

All I know is that if someone had told me back when Larson was cast as CM that the biggest complaint against the trailers (and possibly even the movie) would've been her acting, I would have laughed in their face. And yet here we are.

People saying this trailer has bad FX when Aquaman’s many trailers exist with worse CG, acting AND wigs... is something. Especially when said movie is coming out so soon.

As for Brie Larson not being able to act... she has more depth than Momoa. Just watch United States of Tara, Scott Pilgrim, Room or Short Term 12. She’s got this and I’m sure it’s just bad trailer choices/editing.

A smidge of mascara to enhance those lashes, some eye liner for definition and a bit of eye shadow for that 'smokey eye' effect would really make those baby blues pop!

I don't think he's denying it, what he's saying, is that it makes the situation worse.

Lies people were talking about Jennifer Lawrences line delivery in trailers and Halle's over the top campy look. Not to mention the just general dislike that most people have for Portman spilling into her being cast in Thor. I remember when she was cast people on the comment section already hating on her.

Well, with Portman, thats a dislike for the actress, having nothing to do with her abilities

Catwoman's look is a design decision, not her acting, one people can hate immediately

and maybe Lawrence got some s***, but that was certainly not the driving narrative about FC when the trailer came out, I honestly don't remember seeing any comments about her when that first trailer came out, I'm sure you could dig something up... but the majority of Lawrence/Mystique hate came around Apocalypse and her becoming an over-exposed Mary Sue (plus the building dislike for Lawrence as a person)
