Captain Marvel Captain Marvel General Discussion and Speculation - Part 9

I was just thinking that if someone wanted to break that maniac's record for watching a movie most times, that Endgame wouldn't be the movie to pick.

I didn't like the reversal of the the colors in her final costume, but I liked that she had the sash.

Me neither - I preferred her original outfit, but I do think the Endgame one looked much more...military, in a way? She looked like a Captain, for lack of a better word.

Have they announced the bonus content, yet?

The quality is terrible but the scene is pretty good. Minn-Erva calls Carol "twinkle fist".

Currently wondering how many more scenes exploring Carol's relationship with the Kree were cut.

EDIT: Better quality:

Another deleted scene. This one is getting people real mad. Even some dude running for congress and Ben Shapino are trashing it.

I'm so tired.

Yes, physically abusing someone with space powers and extorting their stuff through threats is the way superhero role-models should behave when someone makes a mean remark to them. This clip flies in the face of one of Marvel's most famous taglines: "with great power comes great responsibility". This is not using "great powers" responsibly. It actually plays like something a villain would do.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like the movie and the character, but cutting this scene was a very smart decision. I mean, the final scene was still a bit awkward, especially since she steals clothes from a completely innocent store. But it felt more indirect in the final cut. This raises questions about the morality of the character.

Well, at that point of the movie, she is still on the villains’ side and is trying to get back to the Kree. She hasn’t recovered her memories at this point - or, perhaps, her sense of morality.

Glad Brie is still keeping these weirdo's in their feelings

Even Ben Shapiro? The super level-headed guy with all the best opinions? Oh no! :funny:

Ben Shapino is a racist dumbass but he has a huge following and usually he doesn't talk about silly superhero movies. That's why I brought him up.

A better question is why would this scene be okay and supported by so many, but Clark Kent destroying a man's truck after the trucker was being abusive was not okay?

Most things that make him or his followers angry is a thing worth celebrating. Glad they're pissing off the right people.

Have you seen any individuals who criticized that truck scene praise this scene?

That's a fair point.

Off the top of my head, I can't recall any other scene like this. Spider-Man takes a bully's car, but it's not done in the spirit of revenge. We have things like Thor smashing a glass, but again, it's not done in a mean-spirited way.

The only other scene I can think of that's similar is Groot sticking his fingers up a guy's nose. But in that case, the Guardians' are still anti-heroes who are out for themselves. As the above poster said, Captain Marvel was technically on the villains side during this scene, but she's still being treated as the movie's hero and role-model.

Oh, I don't support that either. I actually haven't seen any of the current DC movies, so I wasn't aware of that scene.

Does anyone know if Amazon has a different digital release date than other platforms in the US? Every site that I’ve found says it is available on all digital platforms including Amazon today, but it it still showing up as a preorder.

EDIT: Annnnnd never mind. It showed up as soon as I hit post. I guess it was just waiting for me to ask around. Watching it now!!!
