Do you think they should bring back Falcone? We know what happened to him thanks to Scarecrow, and since he was considered "missing" in TDK do you think they could just have him appear; like someone finds him just wandering around constantly saying Scarecrow?

Or maybe somehow have him back to normal and ready to take back what he lost.

Did they say he was still missing?
I think they mentionted his crazy now anyway.

I would rather see Earle return. They could make him black mask or something.

Not bloody likely. Batman movies put the focus on the costumed crazies, never on mob figures. Falcone was barely a supporting character in "Begins"; I highly doubt that they'll ever expand his role.

Harvey said Falcone was in Arkham so I doubt he will return in Batman 3.

I see no reason why they should bring him back, since everybody always cares only about the costumed freaks. Carmine and his family would have been a great way to bring Batman back in 2005, but they decided to give him a minor role, which wasn't bad, after all.

Nah. Time to move onto another Crime Boss.

Hasn't the mob been pretty much dismantled anyway? About the only feasible crime bosses I can see entering the picture are Penguin (ugh) & Black Mask.

The mob will always be there. They could bring in Alberto Falcone as the new mob boss.

Agreed. If there must be a mob boss, bring Thorne or the Penguin or Black Mask. Or all of them, and make a true war. :hehe:

Enough with these italian mob bosses this is Batman not the Godfather

Seeing is how theres this theme of escalation letgs have someone who is considered a freak
I feel like it wll start to get reptititve if we always have some kind of mob boss

I feel like the Mob isnt much anymore because of Joker we should see this as a result in the third

I know Nolan isnt big on Penguin but i think him or Black mask would be the best idea

Of those two Black Mask has a better chance of showing up since Nolan already considered him for a villain in a script. Not sure if it was for TDK or just plotting a third movie.

If they do use BM I think they should use Rutger's character as a foundation. They could either have Earle be an alias, make the Roman name an alias when he's with the False Face Society or keep the Earle name but make him take the steps to become Black Mask after he got "dethroned" by Bruce from Wayne Enterprises in Batman begins.

Im willing to bet money that we'll see in some form a familiar mob boss or character in the 3rd film...Batman fights crime not super villains.

Batman fights crime and super-villains.

I still like the idea, in this early-stage series on Batman's career, of a sort of combination of old-style crime and new-style criminals. The former would keep the series grounded in the realism Nolan's going for and in the whole ethos of the gangster movies he loves, and the latter continue to erode at their power while responding to Batman's challenge. I increasingly like the idea of a realistic spin on the Penguin as a sort of bridge. I love Tom Wilkinson but cannot really see a way of bringing Falcone back that wouldn't seem like travelling over old territory again.

I love that idea.

Maybe could have a short scene in Arkham feat all villains who Batman has got locked up like Falcone, Scarecrow, Zsazz and Flass?

Who says Flass is locked up? Apart from that, I don't suppose it's that unreasonable to expect from a series that allowed a Scarecrow cameo in the second movie.

We don't know for certain but one can assume he is.Batman and Gordon had evidence that he was corrupt and he inhaled all that toxin which is sure to have made him a little unstable.

I liked the rumored storyline of Earle teaming up with the Penguin to plot a white-collar crime against Wayne Enterprises for revenge on Bruce.

As for the mob, anyone who says they should be dismantled by now is wrong.

The Mob shouldn't be something that's dealt with overnight, because that's not realistic. No matter how many freaks roam the streets of Gotham, there should always be a mob element, especially in these early years.

If not Falcone, then Maroni. If not Maroni, then Thorne or Viti or Gazzo, or Tzu or some original mobster. There's a heirchy to the Mob. One goes down, the bottom feeders move quickly to fill the void.

The Mob should be a constant in the Nolan Universe.

That sounds interesting.

Earle really seems like a set-up for Black Mask in BB.

Agreed.
