Sequels CARNAGE & LIZARD for "SPIDER-MAN 4" confirmed already!?

^^ I know several parents who wouldn't take their kids to Spider-Man 3 because they thought Venom would be too scary. If Carnage is in the next film, there's going to be even more parents like that...

Well, just because you personally know "several" parents who wouldn't take their kids to see the flick because of Venom doesn't mean that it's like that all around the country. Apparently there weren't many seeing all the records the movie broke. Hell, the average parent/movie goer probably didn't even know that Venom was in the movie. I don't think it's a big deal. There may be a few people out there who wouldn't take there kid to a movie with a Venon/Carnage in it, but obviously it's not going to change things. The movie is still going to be big.

Dude, I'm not trying to start a fight. Don't insult me. I know Spider-Man 4 will still be big and it will still be awesome. I'm just saying that if there's parents out there who wouldn't take their kids to see it because of Venom, there's going to be even more parents who won't take their kids to SM4 because Carnage is "scarier" than Venom. It won't have a huge impact on the box office numbers, but it will still happen.

I would love to have the Lizard in Spidey4 and have him be the main villian. But Carnage shouldn't be in a Spidey film. he's a stupid and pintless character. I'm a huge Venom fan and like I have said befor Venom is the only symbiote that should ever appear in a Spidey film Imo. The Lizard and Kraven would be great villians for Spidey4.

Easy. I didn't insult you, nor was I trying to. I was just making a point. :word:

In counter-argument, when I went to see Spider-Man 3 I saw more than one set of parents with toddlers/babies seeing the film. And no one walked out (or laughed or anything stupid).

I think Spider-Man 4 should have Conners become the Lizard and the symbiote sample should escape and our last shot of the film should be it slithering into Ravencroft. The Lizard should be the only villian in the film, though I'd also add in a prototype Spider-Slayer made by Jonah.

In Spider-Man 5 I'd have Jonah step the program up and fund the creation of the Scorprion (maybe even have John be the guy in the suit) and more advanced Spider-Slayers and, in the background, have Cleatus Kassidy escape Ravencroft in a big prisoner riot and stumble onto the sample. Our last shot would be a haunting shoadw image of them bonding.

Finally, Spider-Man 6 would be balls-to-the-wall Carnage style, with Carnage wreaking havoc throughout. Maybe he even trashes the last of the Spider-Slayers. If the film's not gonna show his true violence then it has to at least imply it loads. Carnage should be right out of the comics and brutal, vicious and violent. His downfall would come in the Boy's Home he was raised in. They could possibly bring Sandman back to team with Spider-Man in this one, just to show that he needs help.

I'd have the films be titled Spider-Man: [Something] rather than continuing the numbers system (especially because Hollywood avoids that now). The fourth film should be in the same sort of tone and vein as the first, the second should be bigger and more epic with loads of Spider-Slayer action and sympathetic insanity from Scorpion and the last should be dark violence, highlighting Carnage as Spider-Man's most insane and deadly foe. Somewhere over the course of the films they could kill off Captain Stacy and Gwen.

I see nothing to be gained from Kraven, Shocker or Chameleon being in the films. Kraven is pretty lame, as is Shocker, and Chameleon seems a bit crap too. If they want to put them in then they should be side-villains who have no baring on the plot (like Ultimate Shocker). Personally, I'd love to see Electro worked in too because he has the potential to be visually stunning and powerful (and is a better character than the Shocker). Mysterio could work, possibly, maybe even as a team up with Chameleon, maybe as a side-story trying to put bad press on Spider-Man.

Just for the record, Doctor Octopus, the Goblins and Eddie Brock are all dead. Dead. So I wouldn't see them returning, although it might be quite kewl to see John Jameson discover the Goblin equipment and become the Hobgoblin, but I think we've had enough Goblins for now.

Just my thoughts.

Alright...as far as Spidey villains go, I have a tier system:

Top Tier - Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom

High Tier - Lizard, Green Goblin II, Carnage, Morlun

Mid Tier - Majority of Spidey's Rogue Gallery, including Sandman, Electro, Scorpian, Spider-Slayers, etc.

Low Tier - Shocker, Boomerrange, Beetle, etc.

Bottom Tier - The Spot, Gibbion, Big Wheel...

The way I see it, once they finish Top Tier, they'll move onto the High Tier villains, and throw in Med. and Low Tier villians in with them. Reason is that Carnage is a strong possibility.

No Carnage. No Black cat. Its just a horrible idea.
I still like the whole Kraven/Man-Spider/Lizard angle the best. Done right, it shouldn't fail.
Carnage/Lizard/Black cat done in any shape or form as it stands will fail big time.

Since when have Carnage or Morlun been upper-tier? Quite the opposite, in fact.

I'd say the top tier goes (in rank of importance, not personal preference):

1. Green Goblin
2. Doc Ock
3. Venom
4. Green Goblin II
5. The Lizard
6. The Hobgoblin
7. The Kingpin
8. Kraven (just for KLH)

Of those we can't do Kingpin and Hobgoblin would be redundant at this point. That leaves Lizard and Kraven. Sure Carange is popular but he is a lousy character. Besides after 3 I think if RAimi comes back he and Sony will want a smaller scope and a more focused story. Lizard gives you that and adding Kraven strengthens his story, not detracts from it (like adding Venom to Sandman's did).

Carnage would bring nothing to Lizard's story and hurt Lizard's focus and character as much as it would Carnage. No need.

I personally hope that they don't do this. I like keeping it simple. I shutter to think of the days when we get Spider-Man: Extinction.

I cannot believe that the same people who wanted Venom in Spider-Man 3, whom were mad as hell about his limited screentime and character development, are now begging for another symbiote based character. With you all knowing that it's going to take screentime/character development away from a classic villain like THE LIZARD.

Carnage and The Lizard don't mix, The Lizard and Kraven does, because they compliment each other's story. So, you all want to screw up THE LIZARD's screentime and character development for another symbiotic character, who will be limited and watered-down to his very last compound.

I'm going to hope like crazy that this time Sam Raimi (or the new director) doesn't listen to the fanboys wanting another symbiote story and character, and just stick with the classic STAN LEE villains for Spider-Man 4.

^^ yessssss, no more symbiote crap, more classic Stan Lee villains, Venom was enough...if they DID use Carnage tho, they'd probably up the corny humor some more so no Carnage!

Truthfully, with the tiers thing, I meant to say that they should spread out the villains. Lizard now. Add Kraven and Man-Spider in. That would be perfect. But Carnage will appear, sooner or later. And, unfortunatly, so will Hobgoblin.

I don't mind Carnage getting a movie(though I'd prefer it be rated R if he did). But Visionary said it best. Carnage and Lizard don't compliment each others story well. They don't go togethor. And Black Cat just seems like a bad idea. I just don't see her happening on the big screen. Atleast hopefully not in 4, 5, or 6. Screw up 7 all you want, but lets make these next three movies good.

Amen to that. Cat shouldn't get a film. She was always under my radar as a character, and with a certain OTHER cat that made an infamously bad movie...I doubt Sony would do it as a move either.

I disagree. The Chameleon and Kraven both have the potential to be awesome main villains. Although I prefer they stick to one villain per movie, the Kraven and Lizard story sounds really good.

Electro or Scorpion can easily be Spider-man's lethal foe in Spider-man 6. Vulture and Mysterio are also good villains that can also work in a movie.

They should not give green light to carnage. In spider man 3 I was impressed with the first minutes of some venom action but than I got quickly annoyed. It was not a movie anymore but a god damn video game! and there s also the fact that he is not intelligent so the only challenge is fighting!

D A M N I T ! I W A N T M Y S T E R I O !

Mysterio would be a CGI f---ing nightmare, yet another character whom should never see the light of day on screen (unless there was a Sinister 6 movie, with another director). How can you kick Spidey's ass with freakin' holograms?...

This ain't Inspector Gadget. We need villains who are a physical threat.

actually a trap is the best way to get rid of him since getting hit by a train at full speed didnt seem to phase him.. and someone around these boards had a great idea of having him be the fx guy in MJ's play who blames her for getting fired

plus you could always have someone like the Scorpion or Electro in same movie..

If anyone is going to be setting traps, let it be Kraven The Hunter, as a secondary villain. I think THE LIZARD is a perfect choice for the main villain.

and it'll be a great opportunity for Peter to use that nerdy brain of his

maybe Mysterio could lead him into a room filled with water and Electro fries him... there i just killed Spiderman

im all for Kraven and Lizard for number four. These are just my thoughts on what they should do for 5 or 6..

i definently think Kraven should trap the Lizard at some part tho, or Spiderman

I think if they drastically change the Cletus Kasady character around to give him some actual depth, it would work. Ah, who am I kidding.
