The Last Jedi Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa (VIII)

Forever our princess. RIP Carrie

This really sucks. I thought she was going to make it.

Prepare to see "dedicated to Carrie Fisher" at the end of Episode VIII.

I just literally finished watching Episode 4 a few minutes ago and just saw the news ...............................

And now I am super sad and angry.

I've said my peace in several threads now, so I'll ask a couple movie related questions now.

So how do they give Leia a proper send off now? I sort of was feeling Luke and Leia weren't going to be killed off this film and maybe would be a plot point in like a final transition between IX and the eventual X. With all the Legends EU did with Leia, real life cut us a tragically short story for Disney's version.

I also have to wonder if Leia survives VIII, if Trevorrow is furiously re-writing the script for IX now. :(

My heart is broken as one of my childhood heroes has passed away such a great person may the force be with her :(

Wow. Saddened by this. Episode VIII will be massive.

So, so gutted. She was an enormous part of my childhood. Who am I kidding? My adulthood too.

:(

I have to wonder though, do they use some cutting room floor material and/or a stand in/cgi to give Leia a send off in IX or could they get away with doing what they did with [blackout]Tarkin[/blackout] in Rogue One?

I felt his role in Rogue One was a highlight of the movie and the actor portraying him did a fine job. I know the reaction to the cgi seems 50/50, but what if Leia's role was reduced and the younger cast took the focus while Leia would occassionaly appear as the figurehead of the rebellion? Or would it just be much better to say goodbye to her character also?

This year, man. Carrie Fisher was one of the great ones. I swear, every scene between her and Ford in TFA made me cry. I'm going to be balling my f***ing eyes out watching Episode VIII. Damn it.

This crossed my mind too. I rather wonder if they'll do some reshoots of Ep 8 and bring someone in to "replace" (a poor word, but can't think of a better one right now) her.

This really sucks.

Do we know if she filmed any scenes for Ep 8 ? I really hope she did. It would be beautiful to see her for one last time :(

hope they put a Message at the end of Rogue One for her.

Now the last scene in Rogue One is soo fu*** sad man :(

My guess is that they'll write her out of IX (I don't see any way that they recast now). If those "Leia in a coma" rumors are true, they might just change the ending to, well you know. It'd suck, but obviously their hand is being forced (no pun intended) now.

I was really hoping she would pull through. She will be missed greatly.

What Leia in a coma rumor?

The whole cast finished filming earlier this year so whatever they have of her is all they have now. If there's reshoots that need to be done (which are likely now due to her passing), they'll probably use a stand-in and CGI her in.

I feel so bad for Billie Lourd. 24 is a terrible age to lose your mother. Not that it's ever easy, but that's so young.

Oh man. She was such a hilarious, smart woman. R.I.P., Carrie.

I hate this ****ing year. :(

May the force be with you, Princess.

Leia in a coma
