even-though she'll be 18 by the time they make the movie, her co-staring with a 24-25 y.o. would still be kinda creepy in my book, but thats just me
(they did say they were looking for a younger Parker, so, her co-staring with an actor her own age, would be another story)

Personally I don't see actors like Waltz or Bardem being good Doc Ocks. After how badly adapted he was in Spider-man 2 I want the comic book accurate super nerd who no one respects. Basically the Doc Ock from Spectacular Spider-Man.

Ideally, they could try to find a younger Peter, but O'Brianis the youngest out of all the names rumored to be in the running. Either way, they can easily pass as being closer in age than they really are.

While I definatly agree that guys like Bardem would be an awful fit, I'd rather have Ock as a kindly Professor, beloved by his studentd but mocked by his peers. And save the turn to villain for later down the line, establish him in a supporting role first.

Well, almost every Spidey villain was like that so far. Even Sandman had that little ill daughter. Basically good guys / losers / caricatures. So IMHO would be refreshing to see some "pure evil", arrogant, egoistic villain now.

Well, that fits plenty of villains: Mysterio, Kraven, Scorpion. But I think Ock works best as sympathetic.
