When it comes to Avi Arad, remember he was the guy who bought Marvel via Toybiz back in the day and helped found Marvel studios before resigning his positions. Truth is as much as we all dislike the guy, he probably still has a major financial stake in the company even if he does not have an actual position I.E. board member. Also, even though marvel , and by extension, Marvel Studios, is owned by Disney...when making that deal I wouldn't be surprised if ol' Avi got some stake I.E. stocks for Disney as part of the deal.

As much as I hate to admit it, I believe Avi still has some behind the scenes presence. His professional and financial rep is what got Marvel Studios off the ground. The insurance companies and finance companies didn't just say hey..marvel here is money, Avi is on old timer with money and business contacts all over the world. Ol' boy should get some credit (not as much as he wants). I don't doubt he will continue to have some unseen presence for some time to come.

Seriously, the fact that Sony thought ASM 2 followed by a "Sinister Six" movie was a good idea just goes to show you their complete ineptitude.

Even though I'm someone who wants Spidey to be in the MCU, I don't think it was as bad of an idea as it was executed improperly.

It could be one hell of a story if they didn't juggle so many things at once.

I know I have said it multiple times but I think Andrew is perfect for the role os Peter/Spider-Man and would fit in very well with the MCU cast.

That being said Amy Pascal has a lot on her plate currently and the majority of it is bad. If this was WoW she would be the person standing in the fire.

I don't particularly care for garfield but I don't want to see a new face to the onscreen Spiderman especially since we've been having this asm series coexisting with the building mcu. same with batfleck; I'm sure ben affleck will do fine but I didn't want to see a new face to the onscreen batman. that's rebooting batman when batman didn't need rebooting

Now Spiderverse is something I can get into.

No one's saying that Parker cannot still be the true Spidey and lose focus on him but introducing alternate universe counterparts is what I'm getting at. I'm essentially saying that a live action version of the Spider-Verse arc from Ultimate Spider-Man or a version of the comic event happening now in the comics could be a cool thing to see. Maybe have some films of Spider-Man teaming up with other Spider-Men in other worlds could be cool like when Miles and 616-Peter teamed up or bring back Emma Stone as Spider-Gwen or go into the dark world of Noir Spider-Man or do 2099. Then it would lead to a Spider-Verse event film.
