I'm officially a Team O'Brien.

Also mikkelsen as Kraven is beast! (He will now be my new first choice for him)

Here's my alternative cast to:
K3_Ba_G6r.jpg

- Dylan O' Brien as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
- Kaya Scodelario as Mary Jane Watson
- Anton Yelchin as Harry Osborn
- AnnaSophia Robb as Gwen Stacy
- Nina Dobrev as Liz Allen
- Jonah Hill as Kenny Kong
- Ben Barnes as Flash Thompson
- Jaimie Lee Curtis as Aunt May
- Richard Gere as Uncle Ben
- Terry Crews as Alex O'hirn
- Jason Statham as Flint Marko
- Dan Stevens as Eddie Brock
- Neil Patrick Harris as Mysterio
- Jared Harris as Otto Octavius
- Clive Owen as Norman Osborn

I like Jaimie Lee Curtis as Aunt May. But at this point, I don't want to even see her face in the next film. I'm over it.

I think you'd still need Spidey's supporting cast in his film though. It can't be just purely Spidey fighting villains. His own personal life is a huge part of the appeal of the comic. It doesn't have to go heavily into a romantic sub plot, but it should still show a few odd scenes of Peter interacting with his aunt.

But I feel that Jamie Lee Curtis might seem a bit of a come down from Sally Field after ASM in terms of acting gravitas. It might feel a bit like going from Jennifer Connelly to Liv Tyler in the Hulk films. Not that Jamie is a slouch at all, but maybe not quite on the same level as Sally Field.

Emma Thompson is my fav for May. Not too young or old, looks great. Has a sense of fun about her, and if somebody like Dylan O'Brien is cast, could look to form a fun and very real relationship of aunt and nephew, who not only care and worry about eachother, but know how to have a laugh between themselves.

Sally Field was ok. But I found her to be bit of a drag in the mood.

Emma wouldn't be bad and I think might carry more gravitas than Jamie Lee Curtis. If they did want to go with a bigger actress than Sally though, Marvel should go with the biggest one out there and get Meryl Streep. However, she does start to fall back into the grandmother category instead of just being Peter's aunt.

Whoever they get for May though, I'm sure it will be pretty big casting. They can't just get any no-name for this role, and certainly not only on the level of Rosemary Harris. May needs to have been a bonafide movie star/ leading lady in her own right at some point. Rosemary Harris looks like she could even play Aunt May's mother. So we don't want to go that old again.

BTW, here is Emma with a more traditional Aunt May hairstyle and not looking quite as glamorous as in your picture above.

I posted this in an old forum for ASM2. I still think Mr. Odenkirk would kill it as JJJ.

This might be a bit of a waste of a role for her, but how about Gemma Arterton as Betty Brant?

I want JJJ to be a more nuanced character this time round and not just a caricature, which is what JK Simmons became. I don't mind some comedy, but I'd like him to play a bit closer to how Jameson was in the Spider-Man animated series of 1990s.

I'd like to even see him show up in a Netflix series or in Agents of SHIELD in a guest role, doing something a little more heroic than just starting a witchhunt against Spider-Man or costumed vigilantes. In one of the Spider-Man animated series episodes, he actually did some investigative journalism of his own, possibly to clear Robbie Robertson's name. I can't quite remember now if it was that one. It showed he was a decent man at heart even though he had a grudge against Spidey the rest of the time.

I just don't want Jameson to be a cardboard cutout played only for laughs.

And here's the rest of my fancast. I'll admit I bandwagoned Streep as May, but I'm pretty proud of my casting for Captian Stacy, if I do say so myself...

They keep talking YOUNG Peter...Asa Butterfield? 20 in 2017
Freddie Highmore? 25 in 2017 but looks way younger

You know, even at 65, Meryl Streep still looks like a woman in her 40's :hmm
