Perfect cast , really like this one (except Kaya Scodelario as MJ ... :/ I don't know, she looks too much like Kristen Stewart ...)

I don't know I've only saw her in The Maze Runner but she has a very small role. Not enough to judge.
But what I mean is when you say "MJ", you can expect a better looking actress.
AnnaSophia Robb is really beautiful ... Kaya Scodelario, mmmmh not that much. :-P You see? Ahh maybe it's just a matter of opinion lol.

That's why she would be a fantastic choice. She doesn't look too old, but she's the biggest actress out there that Marvel could get. We need someone of that stature after Marvel have had the likes of Robert Redford and Glenn Close last year.

And what other major role could Meryl Streep play?

But I could easily see Marvel and Sony going younger than Sally Field this time, since WB/DC have had a hot young Martha Kent in Diane Lane. Martha has been getting gradually younger. They've gone from Phyllis Thaxter to K Callan to Annette O'Toole and now Diane Lane. You wouldn't think they were even the same person if you looked at each of them side by side.

So yeah, I can imagine Aunt May being younger, but Streep ought to be used. While Emma Thompson would be undoubtedly good, she could play other roles in the MCU, whereas I don't see another one being as suitable for Streep as Aunt May.

I'd love Streep for Aunt May. You won't be able to find an actress with more screen presence and gravitas. Definitely possible, seeing as Marvel has made some big name castings in the past, and Streep recently starred in a Disney production.

If they go slightly younger Emma Thompson would be an excellent choice as well. Wouldn't mind Jaime Lee Curtis either. Such exciting times!!

Personally I don't see actors like Waltz or Bardem being good Doc Ocks. After how badly adapted he was in Spider-man 2 I want the comic book accurate super nerd who no one respects. Basically the Doc Ock from Spectacular Spider-Man.

I look at this picture and I am visioning Wayne Knight, from his Jurassic Park days, which were so long ago now.

I choose Kaya because she gives more of the "model" 616 vibe, but she also has that touch of Ultimate MJ, plus she's worked with Dylan before in the Maze Runner.

I`ll limit myself to fan-casting the characters that I think that should be recurring in the movies, and not one-shots or the focus of the first movie. I did have in mind not casting only superstars, so that it would be a do-able budget.

Spider-Man/Peter Parker - Dylan O`Brien (as I said in other threads, it`s scary how much he looks like Peter. Lerman is a great actor - I would say he is better actor than O`Brien in general -, but I don`t think he is fit for this specific role - mainly due to my lack of faith in his comedic timing -. There is also the issue that Peter, despite being good-looking, should by no means be as handsome as Lerman is)

Ben Parker - Bill Murray (I believe we will only see Uncle Ben in flashbacks, so he should have immense screen presence. And Bill Murray just has that kind of likability that would make us instantly mourn him. If they can`t get such a high-profile actor, I think Richard Jenkins - which someone suggested in the thread - would be a great one too)

May Parker - Emma Thompson (I would prefer Meryl Streep, but I honestly don`t think she would want to do it. That being said, Sally Fields was great, it`s a pity they have to recast)

Mary Jane Watson - Jane Levy (I really think MJ needs to be instantly likable. Levy is very charming)

Harry Osborn - Freddie Highmore (I think the actor they choose for Harry must really embody the disappointment Norman feels. Highmore can do that easily)

Gwen Stacy - I have no idea who they`ll choose to replace Stone. She was very good in the role, despite amalgamating some of MJ`s qualities.

Flash Thompson - Taron Egerton (if they follow up on Flash`s storyline, they really need to get a good actor. Egerton looks like Flash and apparently, if Kingsman is any indication, has the acting chops for it. They will need them to hold his own movie if and when they decide to do Agent Venom.

J Jonah Jameson - JK Simmons (Despite really appreciating some of the suggestions in this thread, Simmons defined the role. And if he is up for returning - which he is, apparently - there is no one else I would rather see on the role)

Robbie Robertson - Andre Braugh (He is a really good actor, and he can certainly pull off the straight-man to JJ`s irascible boss. Coming from TV, he would certainly be cheaper, and the cast is star-studded already. Whoever they choose, he must have really good chemistry with JJ`s actor)

Norman Osborn - Jason Isaacs (Though Bryan Cranston would kill it as well)

Dr. Otto Octavius - Anthony Head (I would like to see Otto as an aged doctor who has made great contributions to science, but has never been properly recognized for it. Perhaps he is Chief Scientist at Oscorp, and Norman takes all the credit, until he snaps? Head is a good actor who can portray that and be menacing whenever he is turned into Doc Ock)

Dr. Curt Connors - Greg Kinnear (This was a brilliant idea from PeterBenParker in the first few pages)
