Love the guy, and he`s plenty likable for Uncle Ben. Looks like him too.

Though I`ve always pictured Brendan Gleeson playing Doctor Faustus in the MCU:

Tell me they don`t look exactly alike.

Yup, seen him suggested for Faustus a few times. Honestly he'd be great either way. He can do both scary as hell or kindly & lovable. Villains are so often one and done though I'd feel like he got wasted. At least with Ben he could easily be a reoccurring character via flashbacks.

Rosemary Harris was what as Aunt May? 74?

With Helen Mirren, whom is 70 this year, she can easily give off that classic Aunt May vibe, but bring out a more youthful feeling, in a sense that you wouldn't identify her as a granny like Rosemary.

That`s true. Though I wouldn`t mind a one-shot character with Gleeson if he had a really juicy role in the movie.

Still hoping for Murray as Ben though, he`s just too lovable:

And he's a guy who you'd convincingly believe would give Peter the sense of humour that he possess!

I would rather have Julie Andrews if we were going for this age range. And Julie is less granny-like than Harris as well. And you would also be able to see where Peter gets his humor from with her too, as well as his goodness and decency. Julie is also a bigger name than Mirren. Julie is a true legend.

I really want to see Uncle Ben and little Peter fishing like how they did in TAS, always thought that was quite cute.

She's almost 80 :wow:

Unfortunately yes. :( That's 6 years older than the age Harris was as Aunt May. Her actual age is what would count against her even though she comes across even now as more youthful than Harris was back then. It's a shame though, because she would be one person who could trump Meryl Streep in the legendary department.

Yeah. Rosemary was Granny May, as opposed to Aunt. But that's the way it is in the comics. Though it is highly strange to look at :hmm

With an actress like Mirren, I feel you'd get best of both worlds. Appearing aged and whatnot, but still highly youthful in nature, like Ultimate May.

If they do get Helen Mirren, I might actually be convinced she was at some time a badass Agent.

I love Mirren, but maybe she`s a bit too badass. Like my problem with Harvey Keitel as Uncle Ben, I think the Parkers are supposed to be those kind of people who couldn`t harm a fly.

Yeah, Helen seems a bit tough, as if she could've been another Peggy Carter in her youth.

I think late 60s is the oldest they should go with May, but easily someone younger too.

I could buy someone like Tea Leoni in the role, especially if you watch her in Madam Secretary.

She genuinely doesn't come across as too hot at all as the Secretary of State in Madam Secretary and is thoroughly believable as a professional woman and mother of three. She is quite maternal in there.

I would say she is no different in her vibe than Diane Lane as Martha Kent in MOS.
