I admire Dark Raven's persistence in wanting a MILFy Aunt May, even if I don't quite understand it.

And I don't quite understand why people want Aunt May to be Grandma May and soon to be moving into a retirement home.

Someone like Emma Thompson would work well and she's a decent and realistic age for an aunt, not a great aunt.

Does Aunt May really need to be about 60 years older than Peter?

Because she's always been portrayed as an old, somewhat frail woman? Just a thought.

:hehe: Me either, but to each his own,I guess.

I frankly hated Clark's parents being so young in MOS,but for different reasons than May's.

And I've already said it's a somewhat outdated concept and also that maybe Ditko just drew her that way because his idea of people in their 50s looked like that (and maybe more people did back in the 1960s because they weren't as health conscious).

Even Sally Field isn't as old as Aunt May has been drawn in the comics. If you really want Aunt May as she is in the comics, she would have to be in her 70s or 80s. I already suggested Julie Andrews as a potential May, since she is 80 years old. But how long could she realistically play the part?

Are you saying someone like Emma Thompson or Jamie Lee Curtis couldn't work as May and are already too young for the part?

Yeah,it's embedded in the character, pretty much.

I'm only familiar with 'Younger' May from the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, where she's hiking the appalachian trail on the weekend for corn sake. That's not the Aunt May I remember.

I used to think that might be the case too,but I remember Stan making a joke where he said "May is feeling better! Just like a spry 60 year old again!" in one of the comics, so I'm pretty sure May was always meant to be on the nearer side of 70.

But,I wouldn't really say someone having an elderly aunt & uncle is too unrealistic. Some siblings are born a decade or more apart.Especially in a large family.

But we're not really talking a decade apart though. We're talking about almost 2 to 3 decades apart between Richard and Ben if both Ben and May are in their 70s now.

And I have been a big advocate of Meryl Streep in the role, who is in her 60s but is still relatively youthful for her age. She looks nowhere near the elderly grandmother that Rosemary Harris was.

Sam Elliott for J. Jonah Jameson.

Sam Elliott for J. Jonah Jameson.

He would work. Hopefully his role as General Ross in Ang Lee's Hulk won't be confusing, but that was a while ago and not part of the MCU anyway. I think he could give a less caricaturish portrayal of JJJ than JK Simmons.

If Garfield doesn't come back (ya I thought he was good :) ) :

Freddie Highmore: Peter Parker/Spider-Man

Highmore always looks like a younger version of some actor, but I can never place it when I see his face. Maybe one day it will come to me. At the moment it doesn't.

Is it weird that I think Freddy and Bacon look more alike?
As I've said before, watch "Bates Motel" and you'll see why he'd be a perfect Harry.

I haven't seen a lot of Bates Motel yet (what I've seen was good), but since he is playing "psycho" that's probably why you could more easily associate him with Harry. As far as looks and voice though, I think he would do well for Spidey.

The reason O'brien looks like Kevin Bacon, is they both have the upper pointing nose thing happening. I don't see a resemblance for Highmore and Kevin Bacon though honestly.

I'm really sold on the idea of Bacon playing Norman now.
He could pull off the business man/Herald of a huge company, but he could also pull off the shady; creepy side of Norman.
Terrific casting on your part BvS :applaud

Thanks my friend :D

Jason Isaacs is the one and only choice for Obsorn! :argh:

:oldrazz:

Based on looks and age at time of filming my pic for MJ is Bella Thorne. Not sure on the others yet though.

I can see Bacon as Norman Osborn, good observation
