Jensen I would like to see as Eddie brock aka venom.

Donald glover if he was in film I rather give him some other role and if we ever see ben kaine etc... clone it be the peter actor.

Andrew I like but I wouldn't want him as norman I rather have a bigger name like jason Issac or Matthew McConaughey.

I wanna try!!

Here are some actors I envision. Random character as they come to me:

Christopher Meloni - Norman Osborn/Green Goblin

Robert Englund - Adrian Toomes/Vulture

Richard Gere - Uncle Ben (Do Thompson and Gere look right together?)

Christopher McDonald - JJJ (If JKS "can't" come back)

Tony Todd - Robbie Robertson

Nathan Fillion - Quentin Beck/Mysterio

Patrick Warburton - Flint Marko/Sandman

Mariska Hargitay - Jean Dewolff (I know I used my L&O card already, it's just a thought.)

Matt Smith - Morbius

Lily Collins - Betty Brant

Saoirse Ronan - Gwen Stacy

Bella Thorne - Mary Jane Watson

Jessica Walter - Madame Web

Amanda Seyfried - Felicia Hardy/Blackcat

Timothée Chalamet - Harry Osborn

Just to name a few..

Let me know what you all think. Thanks!

I wouldn't mind seeing a bigger name as Osborn. I envision Osborn being the charismatic dark half of Tony Stark. Ultimately they'll likely want to use Norman on a much grander scale than the previous Sony films. Marvel would like want to get a charismatic actor who could be a presence in multi-films across the MCU as opposed to the one and done nature of SM1 and ASM 2.

I could see Matthew McCounaghey , Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp in the part . Depp in particular has a long history with Disney and I could see him being more likely to sign onto multiple appearances than Pitt or McCounaghey.

I had never thought of Depp as Norman, but that could actually work, espically after seeing the trailer for Black Mass, it seems like he's staging his comeback as an "actual actor". Mcaughnahey is still my favorite, though.

Agreed. I'd love to see McConaughey in the role, but Depp could knock it out of the ballpark as Norman if he takes the role seriously.

It would end up a movie about him instead of Spidey, just like with Tonto and the Lone Ranger. :o

Norman Osborn - Patrick Wilson

That is a fair concern. Having said that, I don't think Norman's going to be a main villain in the solo films. He'll probably pop up a few times and play puppet master here or there, but I think Marvel's going to save him for an Avengers: Dark Reign film in Phase 4. I think having a charismatic actor like Depp would probably do well to carry the presence of an antagonist against a team-up like the Avengers.

I'm actually warming to the idea of Johnny Depp as Norman. He's already a Disney proven brand, and he could give the series the shot in the arm it needs. I could totally see him pulling off the calculating CEO/ innovator such as Norman Osborn, while also having the madness and mania of The Green Goblin.

Patrick Wilson is inspired as hell. He could do both Norman and goblin.

Honestly I'd prefer if they avoided any big name actors for the most part, There are so many good actors out today who would benefit way more from a chance to be a part of the MCU.

I see Patrick Wilson more as Kurt Connors than Norman Osborn. I've seen him be baddies before, but he just seems to be better as the "good guy" type.

I actually think going for bigger name yet respected actors, ala Batman Begins and Superman the Movie, is the way to go for this first reboot film. You put in actors like Johnny Depp, Emma Thompson, Patrick Wilson etc, who surround Holland, you not only have actors with the skill and cred to pull off the roles, you generate interest in that this isn't just another Spiderman movie, and you also send the single to the GA that you're serious about the quality of the film. I hope they do get big name talent for this next one .

Patrick's role was eventually written out anyway, so it doesn't really make a difference in the end

They already have an unknown with their lead, the film needs some name power to balance that.

Besides look at the supporting casts of MCU movies (SLJ, Hopkins, Bridges, Jones, Tucci, Redford, Douglas, Cheadle, Close etc), they're not going no name. There are a lot of great name actors who also need the work - so why wouldn't they use them?

Im actually rooting for wilson now. I'd love if he got the role

I really like the idea of Patrick Wilson for Norman Osborn. But I do think Kevin Bacon should also be considered, I think he'd make a tremendous contemporary Norman Osborn, a dark version of RDJ's Tony Stark.

Just to be clear my initial post was in regards to big name box office draw type actors, None of those actors are putting people in seats the way a big name actor is expected too.

Its preference for me personally at this point the name of the actor on the poster does nothing for my level of interest in any movie. So if given the choice I rather see new blood than the same people over and over again.

Kevin Bacon would be awesome but at 56, I think maybe his ship has sailed. Especially if they end up moving forward with the Dark Reign storyline which could be years down the line. Someone like Wilson or McConaughey fits better for that situation. Especially since I think it'd be better to have Norman a bit younger than Stark, rather than older.
