I love this cast. Cumberbatch and Fassbender have been my top picks for those roles for a while. Not sure about Edgerton as Aquaman (even though I love the guy), but everything else is aces.

Interesting choices of actresses.

This is subjective to be sure but your WW choice is the "hottest" of them all followed by Batman and GL's love interests. IM subjective opinion.

In a JL film does the WW actress have to be better looking than the love interests of the League members?

And does Batman and GL's love interests have to be the next hottest as I guess they are presumably the best looking male JL members?

Case in point - RR who is probably the best looking lead cast in a DC superhero film to date.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Warners blew 400+ Million on Green Lantern according to trades. It only made 116 Million Domestic.

SR made 400 Mil worldwide and didn't get a sequel for it's financial underperformance. GL made 219 Mil worldwide...


Ryan's already conveying in interviews that he's unsure he's returning. Not to mention the film bombed critically.

It has everything possible going wrong for it. There's absolutely no way there will be a sequel.

Maybe not a sequel, but they'll probably reboot it or revamp it down the line. A revamp is more likely, since Reynolds is a popular actor. They'd probably go for the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance route.

Put it this way, Warners weren't even planning to reboot Superman after SR. They wanted it shelved. Horn testified under oath that Superman was dead as a film franchise and nothing was planned.

It was the lawsuit ruling that forced the creation of MoS.


It's VERY unlikely Warner Bros will even bother rebooting GL. They tried it once. It failed. They won't do it again. Heck, I'm pretty sure it's failure led to Flash and WW being shelved too (especially with Berlanti and Johns attached to Flash).

Reynolds was one of the reasons general audiences couldn't take GL seriously. A revamp with him intact would make no sense.

We know what we know about Supes. That franchise is dead as far as WB is concerned. They were forced to make a detour and do MOS. But that's it. Supes is essentially kaput.

We don't know the thinking of WB re: GL however. Yes, they would not announce it it they had decided to kill the franchise but we don't that they have. This was a first try and WB did have high expectations. So something is telling them this can be a mega-franchise.

Now all they have is Batman. WB may not be gung-ho to make super-hero films but I doubt that all they will make going forward is Batman.

Given that a GL re-boot is a possibility IMO. Or they could go with Flash or WW. I don't see Bamtan being the only comic films they do from here on out.

Superman Returns made bank and they kicked out their lead and started over. If thats there mode of thinking I wouldnt be surprised if they greenlit a Green Lantern sequel with Reynolds, especially if DVD and merchandising sales are high (but I don't know how well they are doing on that front).
