CBS, WB give CW a vote of confidence

Probably. Warner Bros. is all kinds of f***ed up when it comes to their superhero properties. :o

But what I meant was that the ancillary channels don't seem to get as much money from the parent company as the primary network channels. For example, ABC and ABC Family are both owned by Disney, but I doubt they'd ever spring for a show that costs as much as Lost on ABC Family. Battlestar Galactica, despite being a huge critical success, airs on the Sci Fi Channel and thus doesn't get the kind of money that NBC/Universal sinks into its NBC shows like Heroes.

I always thought the Heroes budget was cheap after the ****ty fight between Peter & Sylar in Season 1. Chuck looks like it has more of a budget then Heroes

Heroes spends more of its budget throughout the year. They have to make people fly and glow and shoot energy. Maybe they just ran out of money by the time they shot the finale.

That was a pretty pitiful fight, though.

Indeed once Smallville & Supernatural ends the CW will just become another lifetime channel as long as Dawn is the head of the CW. The one thing that made the WB awesome back in the day were the "superheroish" type shows with the likes of Buffy & Angel & more. Thats were Dawn should go to the lifetime channel

The funny thing is even their target demo of tweeny girls aren't even watching their shows. You'd think they'd realize this and wake up.

Sometimes like in movies they might misjudge their budget and end up lacking funds towards the end.

And that the girls are watching the same shows the CW doesn't want. like Supernatural and Smallville.

Damn, Chicago's affiliate just keeps screwing over CW, this week they're airing the White Sox game Thursday meaning the premiere's of both Smallville and Supernatural won't air till around 10:30 and that's assuming the game ends on time. If it doesn't they'll be on even later and people that are taping them might not get the entire show.

To be fair....more people watch baseball...

Yes they do....the ratings have been on the uptick for the past 3-4 years

Weird. I never saw the appeal, myself--other than as a highly effective cure for insomnia, anyway.

CBS and WB should just give up on the CW.

There are rumors that Time Warner might end up buying NBC Universal. I think that Time Warner should do that and with it, Warner Bros will have a network studio the same way the other studios do. And with a major network that actually gives a damn, they can combine the works of Warner Bros. Television (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Chuck, Two and a Half Men, Pushing Daisies, One Tree Hill) and Universal Media Group (Heroes, Law & Order, Knight Rider, House) into one major network. Plus they can come up with a great Saturday morning cartoon line-up with properties such as DC Comics, Looney Tunes, Curious George, Land Before Time, etc.

CBS can take America's Next Top Model and Everybody Hates Chris and whatever else is left over from the UPN and just move on from the failure that is CW.

Warner Bros. sold their saturday morning block to 4Kids for the next 3 or 4 years....you hope too much

NBC hasn't had any serious kids programming on Saturday mornings in quite a while....and from a purely revenue based standpoint, they have no reason too....hell they have Ryder Cup coverage starting on NBC at 8am this Saturday morning....

Has it ever crossed anyone's mind that he's actually hitting that and that's why she hasn't got fired.
Honestly, I think before she leaves, she's going to cuase more damage to fans by cancelling shows like Supernatural and Smallville just to.......whatever she's trying to accomplish. Gawd she sux at her job!
I know that's what is gonna happen.

Sooner or Later were gonna hate it and wanna get rid of her.

Saturday Morning Cartoons aside, my point was that Time Warner should get NBC Universal like it is rumored and it would really boost NBC by having a great blend of sci-fi shows (Terminator, Heroes), comedy (Two and a Half Men, Pushing Daisies, Chuck, My Name is Earl, The Office, 30 Rock), girlie shows (One Tree Hill), action (Knight Rider), drama (Law & Order, ER, House, Friday Night Lights). And with the vast amounts of properties both Warner Bros. and NBC Universal own, the amount of stuff they can produce is limitless for primetime television. They can even go beyond that with a potentially great Saturday Morning cartoon line-up with what Warner Bros. and Universal have, a combination of CNN, NBC News (which includes CNBC), and the Weather Channel, and more. A merger with Time Warner can give NBC a really great boost that it needs.

CBS can take 90210, America's Next Top Model, Everybody Hates Chris, The Game and other properties that started on UPN or belong to CBS in the first place.

There is literally no reason to have the CW and should just be gotten rid of. It will never be taken seriously. No one watches it. And it is beyond salvaging. CBS and Warner Bros. should just give up on it period.

A Time Warner/NBC Universal Merger means:

- More Networks for Olympics Coverage!

although if I'm Moonves, the head of the biggest network in the country, I would hope to be pulling better tail (or side tail, not sure if he's married) than that.

Smallville should've ended 2-3 years ago, the show is creatively bankrupt right now. Bringing the worst two Justice Leaugers back this season and they're horrible "reimagining" of Doomsday are signs of this.

Wow! I'd actually hit that! She looks better than I thought actually. But still, unless your a escort, prostitute, porn star, or stripper...looks don't pay the bills.

I agree it has been.....sucking the past couple of seasons but still I'm hoping it goes off into the sunset the way it was intended. I'm also hoping this is the last season becuase for a show that started out great, its getting way off track. I'm hoping that they explore more of Superman mythos and get him closer to being in the cape becuase honestly, they haven't!

I'm not too worried. the fact they are doing a public disiplay of confidence actually shows quite the opposite...they are hyping her "vision" up because they are NOT confident in her approach to the channel.
