And I'm back for the second episode of this glorious 2nd Season! Let's just get going!
Peter: The storyline I know that I, and possibly many others, have been chomping at the bit for! After a cliffhanger like last week's, we've earned some answers! And...well...we didn't really get any. But we got to see Peter kick ass, so that's always nice. Still, it was a fun episode for Peter. He's discovering all his abilities again, and I bet he's freaking out. He experienced some compassion from Katherine, the mobster's sister. (Potential love interest, anyone?) And it turns out that Mr. Irish Mobster holds all the secrets to Peter's identity in...*cue dramatic music*...THE BOX! So obviously, this guy wants Peter to use his abilities for the mob...in return for THE BOX!
Claire: Wondering about the show title? I think we all were. Well, the answer lies in Claire's storyline. Claire learns about lizards in school, and how they can regenerate limbs. Claire wants to see if the same holds true for her...and if so, how she can use her abilities to help people by becoming the endless organ donor. Papa Butler isn't too happy about that. Anyway, West suggests that Claire reads this book -
Activating Evolution by Chandra Suresh. So why do I get this feeling like we've seen this before?

Then Claire ends the episode with a painful-to-watch scene where she cuts off her pinky toe...in the name of science, of course. Stalker Boy...I mean, West...is hanging outside her window. Claire goes outside, but he's nowhere to be seen. Instead, there's a copy of Suresh's book in the driveway, and Mr. Muggles is barking at the sky.
Noah: Noah tells his wife about a set of 8 Isaac Mendez paintings that he's never seen. He possesses one...it's a picture of Kaito Nakamura's death. Noah is determined to find the other 7. Along the way, he and Mohinder continue to plot and we're reunited with an old friend - THE HAITIAN!
Parkman: Matt's on the job...investigating Kaito's death. He interviews Ando, and he brings Angela Petrelli in. At first, Matt believes that Angela may have killed Kaito over money or sex. But with a little telepathic prodding, Matt learns of some sort of revenge-seeker. Angela isn't too happy when Matt enters her mind unannounced, and she makes it clear when he attempts it again. Parkman leaves her alone for a minute, the lights go out, and she's attacked by an unseen assailant. As Matt and Nathan ask her what happened, she merely hands them the picture of herself with the Godsend symbol written on it.
Hiro: Surprise, surprise...but Hiro puts on Kensei's armor and saves the swordsmith's daughter. Shocking, huh? Hiro finally manages to convince Kensei to become a hero, but oops...he gets shot by arrows. Just when it looks like all hope is lost for our little Japanese office worker, Kensei pulls a Claire! So that's two Heroes with repeat powers...intentional? We'll have to keep watching to find out.
Maya/Alejandro: The Wonder Twins are back! I'm still not that involved in their story, but it's getting better. They come across a healer who flips her lid when she tries to heal Maya. She says that there's something black enough in her soul to kill the Devil. As they are trying to get across into Mexico with a friend, Maya and Alejandro are...once again...separated. Maya accidentally (almost) kills their friend. Luckily, Alejandro arrives just in time to reverse the process. But let me say that the bleeding eye thing creeps me out to no end...
Mohinder/The Haitian: Mohinder gets his first assignment...in Haiti. I was too wrapped up in the story to notice that, so I was actually shocked (and pleased) by the reveal! There he finds a dying Haitian. He's caught the Legacy Virus (as I affectionately call it. For those of you not "in the know," I'll do a very brief sidebar. The Legacy Virus is from Marvel Comics. It's a virus that only attacks/kills mutants. Catch the similarity?). Mohinder seemingly fails to heal him, when he wakes up to Midas (as I affectionately call him) asking about the mission. Looks like the Haitian did a memory wipe. Anyway, the Haitian arrives at Copy Kingdom to meet up with an old friend. And I, for one, could not be happier.
Still no Sylar

or Niki/Micah/DL

woot

...but the previews indicate that we'll catch up with them next week. As I said last night, this isn't exactly a memorable episode, but it was very nice.
