Chapter 4: The Kindness of Strangers Discussion 10/15/2007

Mysterio, you really do seem to have a stick up your ass.

Matt I usually respect your posts but this is just off base as Mysterio has really done nothing wrong.

He had a differing opinion and started getting attacked for it in the other thread he references.

You of the many posters here should understand that.

If anything I am the one who has been a jackass today but in my defense I let my emotions get the better of me after I was insulted as well.

Now that I am calmer I see how I was being a bit of a jackass and I apologized in that thread.

i think all comments on shh can be let slide as its never gonna be the end of the world

I think its rather obnoxious and annoying that almost every thread i end up people end up cussing each other over something so trivial. i hate having to come on to a topic with a page worth of new posts only to find the whole page is full pf people insulting each other and treating people like s**t. It's not that serious guys. Can we just stick to the topics at hand. If you wanna bicker at each other then lets just make a thread specifically for that....than you can argue and still be on topic win/win. Sorry for the rant and being off topic myself but its just been getting ridiculous now

how did sylar get to where he got? What are the theories circulating?

Well, he told Maya and Alejandro (and Derek) that he had been robbed and had been walking for three days. We know he lied about being robbed, but maybe he really did walk for three days and end up collapsed on that road. Last episode he discovered that he was in some jungle/wilderness area. Since Candace & whoever she was working for brought him there, I'm sure he wouldn't want to wait around for somebody to show up. And lacking powers, the only way he could get out of there was to walk (and probably climb some :yay: ).

don't know, but...

Candace was in the employment of Linderman's company, and was very close to Linderman. We see Candace going back and forth between The Company and Linderman's grand scheme. Bob seems to be part of The Company as well. was Candace talking to Bob on the phone before she was killed? what was the reason The Company went after Sylar in the first place? what do they want with him now?

Well, it was certainly clear from last season that the Company wanted to keep Sylar alive, most likely for the purposes of study, because out of all the Heroes, he's an anomaly. Sure, based upon what Claude told Peter, the Company has encountered Empaths before, people who could soak up other powers like sponges on an emotional level. But by all indications, Sylar is not an Empath. Yet, based solely on his ability to "see how things work" he has been able to figure out how to rewrite his own DNA to incorporate his victims powers and have greater control and skill with those powers than the original people did. If they figure out what makes Sylar tick, then potentially the Company could actually be closer in figuring out how to make normal humans acquire special abilities. At least, that's what I think.

If by some chance, Sylar's father is one of the main 12, then he might have connections high up in 'The Company', which could explain why they saved Sylar's life.

It wouldn't surprise me if that's the case, Already It appears that The Heroes have more in common with each other than they realize . So why not the Villain of the story as well .

It just seems to me any time anyone presents an opinion different from Mysterio's he suddenly gets really defensive, and angry, and becomes a jerk. "Did you watch!?!?! I watched! I know! You're wrong! I'm right!"

If I remember correctly, Sylar inherited his father's watch-repair business after his father passed away. According to the photo showing the group of twelve, only four people in that photo are confirmed to be dead: Mr. Petrelli, Charles Devarux, Mr. Linderman, and Kaito Nakamura. The rest of them are said to be still alive. There's four men left, one of whom is Matt dad. That leaves three, including Bob. If Sylar's father is dead, then that means that neither of those three men can be Sylar's father. By all accounts, Sylar's dad was ordinary. Remember, Sylar always wished he was more special and that he was someone else's kid because his parents were so ordinary. It's part of his motivation. I just think the Company's interest in Sylar is not due to any of the members sense of devotion to their son but rather something to be studied in order to better their own agendas.

Edit: By the way, here's a thought: that is Claire's car Sylar and the Twins are riding in. Wonder if there is any way Sylar can find out it belonged to Claire? You don't think she would have been foolish enough to leave her wallet with her driver's license in there, do you?

I just had a thought and forgive me if it's been brought up before(especially after the whiney *****-fest this thread has been for the past couple of pages); but is there a possibility than West could be a plant of HRG's?

I think the coolest thing they could do would be to have Sylar find some mail with the address in the glove compartment and then go to Claire's house to apologize, then Maja y Alejandro end up protecting Sylar from HRG... that'd be awesome.

Yeah, I see nothing but evil in store for those two.

Yeah, i suppose it's a possibility, but i don't think so. just doesn't seem to make sense.

HRG is a shady guy, his motives could range from "keeping an eye on Claire" to "world domination" :D

If HRG wants to take over the world, then we should all kneel down, pucker up, and prepare to kiss his ass. HRG > Everyone. :cwink:

I'm still wondering what would happen if HRG with prep time got to fight Batman with prep time :wow: I'm pretty sure the world would implode.

The fight I would love to see is Peter well trained & knows how to use all of his powers VS Batman. Batman would get pwned.

Monica doing the 619 was great tv what is the extent of her powers is it one move or action she duplicates (like the 619) or a whole techniqe (karate, kung fu etc).
